United Church of Canada Qu'Appelle Presbytery

Qu’Appelle Presbytery was one of the original 16 presbyteries established by the first General Council of the United Church of Canada (June 1925), to be part of the new Saskatchewan Conference. Initial boundaries were based on the previous Qu’Appelle Presbytery, which had been part of the Presbyterian Synod of Saskatchewan.

In 2000, Saskatchewan Conference went from 10 presbyteries to 7, with each adopting a new name. Most pastoral charges from Qu’Appelle Presbytery became part of the new Twin Valleys Presbytery.

Indian Head Rockets (Baseball)

The Indian Head Rockets engaged young black American players in the early 1950s, as did other western Canadian towns (Medicine Hat, Lethbridge, Regina, Delisle, Brandon, etc) to create a competitive and entertaining league.

Indian Head Pastoral Charge

Indian Head Pastoral Charge was formed as a United Church charge in 1925, part of Qu'Appelle Presbytery. In addition to St. Andrew's United Church (Indian Head), preaching appointments later included Sunny Slope (in the 1930s) and Hope (ca.1940).

Glenn Lynn Circle

Glenn Lynn Circle was organized by Mrs. Isabella Worden in May, 1928, in the area of the Glenn Lynn School District #333 and consisted of farm wives who, for 55 years (until 1983) raised funds for Indian Head churches through various events (teas, bazaars, etc). It discontinued in 1983.
