This fonds contains materials relating to Arscott's work; his involvement with the Progressive Conservative Party and later disillusionment with the mainstream parties and his activities with the Rhinoceros Party; his extended family; his war service;and reminiscences of growing up in Saskatoon, attending the University, and local and political figures. Particularly extensive is his writing: creative; satire; and memoirs.

Jack Quinlan fonds

This fonds contains materials relating to the life of Jack Quinlan. It includes photographs of his years as a student at the University of Saskatchewan, but predominantly reflects his time with the RCAF. It is notable for the letters of condolence sent to his family following his death, which provide clear evidence of the extent to which one family’s loss was felt throughout the community.

This fonds relates to the lives of siblings or descendants of RHD Phillips and Tanyss (Bell) Phillips. Robert Howard Daniel (“Bob”) Phillips (1921-2006) was a journalist. He joined the staff of the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool as a research analyst, and later became the editor and publisher of the Western Producer. He married Tanyss Bell in 1951. Tanyss (1926-2016) was an economist who worked in the research department of the Bank of Canada, with the Saskatchewan Royal Commission on Agriculture and Rural Life, as a lecturer at the University of Regina, and as a contract editor. Both were alumni of the University of Saskatchewan.

This fonds reflects Holmlund’s interest in the philosophy of education, his varied career at the University of Saskatchewan, and his concern for an equitable society. It is particularly valuable as a source for university history, specifically for the period of Leo Kristjanson’s tenure; and for issues surrounding health delivery, education, and the College of Medicine; the development of computer / IT services on campus; and First Nations educational opportunities. As a reflection of planning at a post-secondary U-15 institution, this fonds is particularly strong, notably for the materials surrounding the Issues and Options project.

This fonds contains materials created or collected by R.H.D. Phillips, particularly during his tenure with the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. In particular, it contains extensive materials documenting the work of the Research Division, including specific issues relating to their internal communications, and transportation issues. Additionally there is documentation relating to the running and operations of the Western Producer, Modern Press, and Western Producer Publishing. Also included are records relating to the establishment and demise of St. Stephen’s Church in Regina, a variety of genealogies compiled by Phillips, documents pertaining to Tanyss Phillips's work with the Royal Commission on Agricultural and Rural Life, and documents relating to post-secondary education in Saskatchewan.

: This fonds contains the personal records of an extended family, including photographs, correspondence, and diaries. It documents their interests, careers, and family life predominantly two generations – the Ratcliffes and McConnells. The first accrual documents the interests, careers and family of John and Doreen McConnell and their daughter, Mary Ann. It includes materials related to McConnell’s work in communications, his work for the Canadian and Saskatchewan governments, together with materials relating to his interest in the environment and social and international development issues. It also includes materials relating to his wife, Doreen, who predeceased him. The second accrual adds the records of Doreen’s parents, the Ratcliffes, which includes documents related to their personal life and interests, Elma’s travel, James’ World War I service, and family life.

This fonds consists of records created, accumulated and used by Doug Wilson while he lived in Saskatchewan. The records relate to his involvement and interest in matters of relevance to the Saskatchewan homosexual community, to the gay rights movement, and to Wilson's dismissal from the University of Saskatchewan and his subsequent human rights claim put before the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission. The fonds includes correspondence, clippings, and publications about his work in the gay rights movement, as well as his involvement in the creation and administration of homosexual organizations in the province, such as the Zodiac Friendship Society / Gay Community Centre of Saskatoon, and the Saskatchewan Gay Coalition. The fonds also includes correspondence, briefs and reports pertaining to Wilson's work with the Saskatchewan Association on Human Rights, and original and reproduced cartoons drawn by Wilson.

This fonds contains materials collected and created by Margaret “Pearl” Hanning throughout her life. Predominant are publications by R.W. Robins*, a British collector and author she had a correspondence with. Some correspondence, poems, and pamphlets were found tucked inside these publications. Also are some artifacts relating to the British monarchy and her retirement. Other documents pertaining to her life are also present such as photographs, school work, and her burial certificate.

The fonds includes medals and other awards received by Henry Taube, including the Nobel Prize, National Medal of Science, Priestly Medal, etc. as well as plaques, certificates and other memorabilia. Textual material covers several career highlights, including correspondence from Canadian universities in 1940 and subsequent job applications and offers; biographical material including oral history interviews; material relating to Luther College, including a post-Nobel congratulatory note from an influential teacher; articles by Taube and others explaining Taube’s scientific contributions; clippings and other material relating to awards, especially the Nobel Prize; and other material. Some material, particularly relating to Taube’s death, was added to the fonds by his widow Mary Alice Taube; this material includes obituaries from several newspapers, condolence letters and cards, and material relating to the memorial service at Stanford. Photographs include documentation of the Nobel Prize ceremony, including the presentation by King Carl Gustaf; other award ceremonies; international trips including to Japan, China and Taiwan as a visiting lecturer; informal photos from various years; formal portraits and head shots; giving lectures and with students; colleagues from Stanford including fellow Nobel laureates; and more.
