Gail Bowen fonds

Fonds consists of background information, correspondence, contracts, drafts, manuscripts, notes, reviews, financial information, and publicity materials relating to the writing, publishing, and production of five books, three plays, and numerous articles by Gail Bowen. Also included are examinations, student papers, and teaching materials pertaining to her role as a professor of English, and a small quantity of personal correspondence and financial records.

Dan Cameron fonds

Fonds consists of records relating to Dan A. Cameron's activities as a teacher of voice at the Regina Conservatory of Music, writer, adjudicator, and concert performer. It includes personal correspondence, invitations, financial information, and military records. Arranged in four series (Conservatory of Music, Personal, Photographs, and Programs), the records reveal the full extent of his vocal activities in Regina and in Canada. Of particular interest are files documenting Cameron's extensive affliations with numerous local music organizations, and a collection of programs for various musical performances at the University of Regina's Darke Hall, and other venues. Included in these programs is one for the Gracie Fields concert in 1940. The records also contain a series of personal photographs, many unidentified, depicting Cameron, social events, local scenes, and travel views of European locales. Among the military records, the Roster Book, 2nd Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Forces (c1918), provides significant genealogical information about members of the Battalion.

The records reflect the growth of Coteau Books from an arm of a small co-operative run by its members to an established publisher with three employees. Of special note is the large quantity of manuscripts in various stages of production.

Fonds consists of personal papers documenting Les Crossman's career as an English professor, writer and lecturer. Arranged in twelve series (Biographical; Clippings; Correspondence; Educational; Financial; Governmental; Miscellaneous; Professional and Other Organizations; Universities; Writings, Speeches, Performances and Research; Photographs; and Sound Recordings), the bulk of the fonds is made up of Dr. Crossman's wide-ranging correspondence with various individuals and organizations. Of particular interest is the extensive personal correspondence with family, colleagues, friends and acquaintances, and students, as well as a series of his articles and speeches, which provide insights into Dr. Crossman as a teacher, a scholar, and a friend.

Garry Fairbairn fonds

Fonds consists of the professional papers of journalist Garry Fairbairn, arranged in three series reflecting three spheres of activity. The first series contains correspondence, copy, clippings, and other records documenting his career as a reporter for the Canadian Press Organization (CP), 1962-1981. The second series pertains to Fairbairn's involvement in the Saskatchewan Journalists Association, 1973-1978. It contains executive minutes, clippings, membership lists, briefs, correspondence, incorporation, founding convention and annual meeting materials, financial information, and publications including issues of 'The Saskatchewan Journalist'. Administrative files, research materials, photographs, and drafts relating to Fairbairn's commissioned book:, 'From Prairie Roots: the Remarkable Story of the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool', comprise the third series.

While the arrangement differs among the various accessions, in general the records fall into the following series: Correspondence (1941, 1961-1994); Drawings and Sketches (1971-1972, 1977, 1983); Photographs ([194__], 1949, 1951, 1960-1994); Publications By/Featuring Patrick Lane (1966-1994); Publications By/Featuring Others (1967-1991); Audio-Visual Materials (1977-1993, many undated); Writings By Patrick Lane (1963-1994, many undated); Writings By Others (1961, 1971-1994, many undated); Financial Records (1978-1990); Personal Files (1946-1956, 1969-1994); Professional Activities (1977-1994); Professional Associations (1970, 1976-1990); and Red Lane (1962-1964). Of particular note is Lane's extensive correspondence with cultural and educational institutions, colleagues, family and friends, government agencies, media, publishers, and the many writers and poets who sought his advice about their work. Also included are notes, drafts, and manuscripts of the many articles, journals, poems, reviews, short stories, speeches, and radio scripts written by Lane, along with a nearly-complete set of his published works. The fonds also contains sound and video recordings of radio programs, readings, and interviews with Patrick Lane, Lorna Crozier, and other writers, and photographs depicting Lane, Crozier, family, friends, travel subjects, homes, literary events, and scenic shots. Files relating to Lane's professional functions as a writer, editor, and juror include documentation relating to conferences and festivals, workshops, grant applications, radio contracts, appraisals, readings, talks, and writer-in-residence positions. Files pertaining to his work with the League of Canadian Poets and other professional associations with which he was affiliated are also present. Poetry written by Patrick's father, 'Red' Lane, and 'Red''s correspondence with his wife, Elaine, (1962-1964) are also found in this fonds.

Susan Whitney Gallery fonds

Fonds consists of files generated by Susan Whitney Gallery Ltd, a private art gallery located in Regina, Saskatchewan. These records relate to the exhibitions and selling of art by such regional artists as Joe Fafard, David Thauberger, Russ yuristy, Bill Lobchuck, Don Proch, and Tony Tascona, among others, and such folk artists as W.C. McCargar, Dmytro Stryjek, and Eva Dennis. Other Canadian and foreign artists are represented. The fonds have been organized into ten series: Art Fairs, Artist files/Artists, Date Books, Financial Records, Globe Theatre, Invitations, Personal, Photographs, Scrapbooks, and Working files/Administration. Fonds consists of personal papers of Lloyd Ingram Barber who was President of the University of Regina from 1976-1990. Dating from 1955-1992, the records include general files (1959-1988), clippings, annual reports, class materials, and personal correspondence (1955-1992). Of particular interest are Dr. Barber's extensive Indian and Native files, 1965-1985. These contain conference materials, correspondence, daily journals, treaties, documents and publications, audio tapes, land claim court case files, and files relating to various Native organizations, all generated during his tenure as Indian Claims Commissioner, as well as personal files pertaining to Aboriginal affairs generally. Also noteworthy is the complete record of speeches delivered by Dr. Barber, 1961-1990, and files containing correspondence, reports, meeting materials, financial statements, and other records relating to the many directorships held by Dr. Barber, 1977-1992.
