Bruce Wartman fonds

The fonds consists of records created and collected by Rev. Wartman, before and during his time as an ordained minister, in Saskatchewan. Contents include: correspondence (1954-1958); historical documents by various individuals, including Rev. Wartman, W.B. Baker, and Rev. Frank Hoffman (ca.1940-1982); and annual reports from Regina St. James United Church (1975, 1977, 1978), North Battleford Third Avenue United Church (1960-1961), and Kindersley St. Paul’s, Netherhill and Knox United Churches (1958-1960).

Series consists of building plans and blueprints for various churches, additions, and proposed related constructions in Saskatchewan. Contents include items relating to: Avonlea, Camp McKay and Round Lake Mission, Moose Mountain and Carlyle, Carievale, Frontier (Climax Pastoral Charge), Goodwater, Grenfell (Sakimay United), Keeler, LaFleche, Leader, Moose Jaw (Grandview and Minto United), Regina (Carmichael Presbyterian/United, Hillsdale United, St. James United, Whitmore Park United), Rockglen, Semans, Sceptre, Sintalute, Wapella, and an unidentified church (J. Wright, ca.1960) near the Radway Lumber Co.

Correspondence and clippings - Regina United Church Ministerial Association

Correspondence between Rev. Thomas Currant, Secretary of the Association, and Rev. Samuel Farley of the First Presbyterian Church; Regina, concerning the use of "The Presbyterian Church in Canada" as part of a weekly advertisement of the Ministerial Association appearing in the Regina Leader. Rev. Currant also corresponded with other United Church officials for advice on the subject. Copies of letters printed in the newspaper on the subject are included.

The association is made up of United Church ministers, serving in the Regina area. Early participants included: E.S. BIshop; A.C. Justice; Rev. Mc.E[?] Thompson; C. Morgan; H. Joyce; H.[?]. Leitch; [Dr.?] Tufts; and [P?] Strang.

There are also photographs: a group portrait of adults and children outdoors, captioned "Pupils of File Hills Indian School", 1925; exterior view of a large building, with postcard template and notes on back "Round Lake Residential School [...] Additions" and "Complements of W.J. Cookson" (no date provided); and a group photo of 14 adults and children, on the steps of a building, under sign "Cote School 1915" (no date provided for the photo).
