Fonds consists primarily of records generated by two committees: the Saskatchewan Department of Education's Committee of Inquiry on Teacher Salary Negotiation Procedures, 1966-67, and the University of Saskatchewan's Joint Committee on Higher Education, 1965-68. Dr. Harvey was a member of the Joint Committee on Higher Education and was chairman of the Regina Campus Sub-Committee. The major purposes of the Joint Committee were: to examine all aspects of post-secondary education; to examine the feasibility of establishing several colleges in defined regions of the province to further the economic and cultural development of the region; and to examine and evaluate the articulation of all formal and informal educational programs in a community.

Fonds consists of personal, professional, and literary papers of Canadian poet and writer, Patrick Lane. While the arrangement differs among the various accessions, in general the records fall into the following series: Correspondence (1941, 1961-1994); Drawings and Sketches (1971-1972, 1977, 1983); Photographs ([194__], 1949, 1951, 1960-1994); Publications By/Featuring Patrick Lane (1966-1994); Publications By/Featuring Others (1967-1991); Audio-Visual Materials (1977-1993, many undated); Writings By Patrick Lane (1963-1994, many undated); Writings By Others (1961, 1971-1994, many undated); Financial Records (1978-1990); Personal Files (1946-1956, 1969-1994); Professional Activities (1977-1994); Professional Associations (1970, 1976-1990); and Red Lane (1962-1964). Of particular note is Lane's extensive correspondence with cultural and educational institutions, colleagues, family and friends, government agencies, media, publishers, and the many writers and poets who sought his advice about their work. Also included are notes, drafts, and manuscripts of the many articles, journals, poems, reviews, short stories, speeches, and radio scripts written by Lane, along with a nearly-complete set of his published works. The fonds also contains sound and video recordings of radio programs, readings, and interviews with Patrick Lane, Lorna Crozier, and other writers, and photographs depicting Lane, Crozier, family, friends, travel subjects, homes, literary events, and scenic shots. Files relating to Lane's professional functions as a writer, editor, and juror include documentation relating to conferences and festivals, workshops, grant applications, radio contracts, appraisals, readings, talks, and writer-in-residence positions. Files pertaining to his work with the League of Canadian Poets and other professional associations with which he was affiliated are also present. Poetry written by Patrick's father, 'Red' Lane, and 'Red''s correspondence with his wife, Elaine, (1962-1964) are also found in this fonds.

Fonds consists of personal papers created by chemistry professor, Dr. Owen Holmes. The bulk of the material consists of correspondence and other records relating to the University of Regina Chemistry Department, to several university committees on which Dr. Holmes served, and to professional organizations with which he was associated.

Fonds consists of personal and professional papers created by Saskatchewan artist Otto Rogers, (1953-1988). It includes a substantial series of Drawings and Sketches (1955-1976); Publications, including exhibition catalogues, publicity materials, and articles featuring Rogers and other artists (1954-1988); a diverse series of personal and professional correspondence with family, friends, galleries, art dealers, artists, and others (1953-1988); corporate and personal Financial Records (1983-1987); Newspaper Clippings (1954-1987); audio-visual materials (1959-1987), and Miscellaneous personal material. Correspondence, publicity notices, invitations, and publications relating to Rogers' involvement with the Bahai faith (1969-1988) are also present.

Fonds consists of professional records generated by engineering professor Oscar D. Seawell, [1971]-1991. The records have not been processed but they include administrative files, personnel and student files, publications, research grants and applications, research files, professional associations files, studies and reports, university and Faculty of Engineering committee files, background material, lectures, assignments and schedules, exams and quizzes, student projects and theses and other records relating to Mr. Seawell's research, teaching, professional activities, and administrative role.

Fonds consists of personal papers of Regina lawyer and art collector Norman MacKenzie, dating from approximately 1890-1936. Chiefly consisting of correspondence relating to the selection, acquisition, and appraisal of art work, 1911-1936, the fonds also contains personal and family photographs and a scrapbook of letters and clippings relating to his death.

This fonds consists of serveral accessions: Feasibility Study on the Norman Mackenzie Art Gallery (85-73;. Cassette tape on the Mackenzie building controversy, produced by CBC (88-66); Administrative files, 3 architectural blueprints, 29 photographs and 1 poster, 1937-1985 (89-34; Architectural plans from the 1930s (89-67); General files from the Faculty of Fine Arts which includes administrative papers on the Gallery (91-27); and Administrative files from the coordinator of Education Programs, 1981-1990 (93-45).

Fonds consists of information on all the exhibitions held at Neutral ground from 1982-1990, with a few exceptions. The collection also contains photographs, slides, and posters.

Fonds consists of personal and professional papers of Myrna Kostash. Included are personal and business correspondence, financial records, association files, teaching records, project files, and records relating to her extensive writing activities. The latter include background material, research files, articles, drafts, corrections, manuscripts, speeches, presentations and readings, interviews, newspaper columns, correspondence, scripts, notes, and reviews. Of particular note are audio cassettes and transcripts of interviews Kostash conducted during research for two books, "Long way from home: the story of the sixties generation in Canada" and "No kidding: inside the world of teenage girls". Kostash's involvement with NeWest Press (1983-1989), and with numerous professional organizations including the Writers' Union of Canada (1978-1994), the Writers Guild of Alberta (1980-1988), and the Periodical Writers Association of Canada (1976-1984), are reflected in records consisting of correspondence, minutes, agendas, membership lists, newsletters, constitutions, policy papers, committee files, and other material.

Fonds consists of personal and professional papers created by Margaret Messer. Arranged in six series (Education, General, Teaching, Organizations, Publications, and Scrapbooks) the records document her activities as a teacher, art educator, writer, and illustrator, as well as her own education and training and her involvement with several professional groups. A large part of the collection contains information on art education programs at Balfour Technical School (1945-1974) and at the University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus (ca. 1966-1984) where she was a significant influence on program development. Of particular note is the series of publications which includes articles and books written or illustrated by Messer (1946-1973). Publications of the Saskatchewan Society for Education through Art (SSEA) are found in the Organizations series, along with papers, correspondence, conference materials, minutes, newsletters, and other records pertaining to her involvement with the SSEA (1961-1985), the Canadian Society for Education through Art (1962-1984), the Saskatchewan Arts Board (1947-1970), and others. General Files (1927-1986), containing biographical information, art commissions, personal and professional correspondence, curriculum materials, travel logs, drawings by Messer, and memorabilia, provide additional insight into her life and career.

Fonds consists of research materials and writings generated by journalist Maggie Siggins during the production of five books: 'Bassett: His Forty Years in Politics, Publishing, Business, and Sports' (James Lorimer and Company, 1979); 'Brian and the Boys: A Study of Gang Rape' (James Lorimer and Company, 1984); 'A Canadian Tragedy: JoAnn and Colin Thatcher: A Study of Love and Hate' (Macmillan of Canada, 1985); 'Revenge of the Land: A Century of Greed, Tragedy and Murder on a Saskatchewan Farm' (McClelland and Stewart, 1991); and 'Riel: A Life of Revolution' (Harper Collins, 1994). While the arrangement varies amongst the various accessions, as a whole the records fall into four main series: Research Files, Interviews, Legal Materials, and Writings. The products of Siggins' thorough research, the first series contains magazine and news clipping, correspondence, biographical information on subjects and informants, notes, bibliographies, background materials, chronologies, photographs, articles, and copies of archival documents. The second series consists of audio recordings and/or transcripts of interviews with an extensive array of individuals who played major or minor roles in the events Siggins describes. Since a number of her books deal with court cases, the fonds also includes comprehensive legal documentation including proceedings of hearings and trials, affidavits, judgements, and files relating to forensic and medical evidence, laws and legal arguments, and testimony. The final series consists of outlines, drafts, manuscripts, galleys and correspondence relating to the writing and publication of the books. It should be noted that although Siggins' research occurred since 1979, the research files contain extensive historical material. This is particularly true for the Riel records in which is assembled a comprehensive collection of archival documents copied from repositories across Canada, and dating back to the early 1800s. Relating to the 'Bassett' book, the fonds includes only tape recorded interviews.

Fonds consists of files kept by English Professor Lucy Murray relating to University bodies with which she was associated. Included are minutes, reports, correspondence, and other documents pertaining to the Library Committee (1954-1960), the Scholarship Committee (1958-1963), the Registrar's Committee (1963-1964), the Committee on Studies (1960-1964), and the Department of English (1956-1966).

Fonds consists of personal papers throughly documenting the private life and literary career of Canadian poet & writer, Lorna Crozier. While the arrangement of series varies somewhat among the accessions, as a whole the fonds contain the following series: Correspondence (personal and professional); Writings/Drafts (by Crozier & other writers); Professional Activites; Publications (buy and about Crozier and other authors); Personal files; Employment and Education files; Photographs; Posters; and Audio Visual Tapes. Beginning with her early student works a substantial portion of the papers is made up of drafts, revisions, gallery proofs, manuscripts, reviews, and published versions of poems, plays, short stories, and reviews written by Crozier, providing a detailed reflection of her development as a writer. Also noteworthy is the extensive personal and professional correspondence with family, friends, publishers and colleagues including such important Canadian writers as Susan Musgrave, John Newlove, Anne Szumigalski, Eli Mandel, and her husband Patrick Lane, as well as many others. Crozier's varied activities as an editor, teacher, speaker, interviewer, jurist, speech writer, and student are well represented in the papers, as are her associations with numerous literary and cultural organizations. The audio visual materials provide aural and visual glimpses into her life and work, and include audiotapes of interviews with various artists conducted by Crozier and of her and Lane's appearances on CBC Radio.
