The Carrier

File consists of three copies of The Carrier, overseas edition, a newsletter printed by the 8th Canadian Reconnaissance Regiment. Includes Vol. II (possibly Vol. I, No. 2, July 25, 1942); Vol. I, No. 4 (September 1942); Vol. I, No. 5 (Xmas 1942); and Vol. II, No. 1 (January-May 1943). Issues include poems, stories, cartoons, and other comical entries.

Extracts from war diaries and memoranda

File consists of extracts from war diaries and memoranda. First page is dated July 17, 1945. Nine of the pages are double-sided. One contains a map. Also includes a double-side page regarding the return of Canadian Army personnel returning to Canada.

Battle history

File consists of a document entitled "Battle History" for the 8th Canadian Reconnaissance Regiment (14th Canadian Hussars). Also includes a topographical map labelled "C Company".

Award recommendations

File consists of two booklets containing what seem to be handwritten accounts of individuals' achievements by Frank Harbor for the purpose of award recommendations. These individuals could be members of 'B' Squadron. Information about certain war events is also included.

War diaries

File consists of twelve war diaries for the 8th Recce Regiment from January to December 1944 and one from June 1, 1945, to December 1, 1945. Also includes a map of Indian Lake, Saskatchewan, with notations written on it.

Casualty list

File consists of two lists of casualties within the same book. One list includes regiment number, name and initials, rank, type of casualty, date, and a signature. All dates are in 1944 or 1945. The other list includes regiment number, rank, type of casualty, name and initials, kit in store, "Part I or C.R.", and sometimes a note about the outcome of the soldier. Entries are not dated. Also includes a separate list of names and regiment numbers without any related information.

Cadets

File consists of a graduation dinner program at the Cadets' Mess for April 15, 1943, and an attendance book for a Cadet Corp. Signalling course in 1961.
