Regimental history

Series consists of history of the 8th Recce Regiment. Much of the information in this series was used to compile a history of the regiment. This information came from official and unofficial military documents and correspondence received from former soldiers responding to a request for information. Also includes some records relating to the Legion and its members in Swift Current. Series contains eight files: Letters received - History of 8th Recce Regt., Letters 8th Recce., Battle history, VIII Cdn. Recce Regt., 14th Light Horse, Unit history, Award recommendations, and Legion & 8th Recce.

Legion & 8th Recce

File consists of newspaper clippings and other pages relating to the 8th Recce Regiment and the Royal Canadian Legion in Swift Current. Also includes lists of those in the regiment who died and where they are buried as well as honours received by the 14th Canadian Hussars and other textual records.

Reunions

Series consists of records relating to reunions of the 8th Recce Regimental Association held from 1970-2007. Series contains eight files: Reunion programs, Reunions 1966-1987, Reunions list 1960-1991, Reunions 1996-1999, Reunions 2000-2001, Reunion 2004, Reunions 2006-2007, and Reunions undated.

14th Light Horse

File consists of photocopies of military documents containing information regarding the 14th Light Horse and 209th Battalion. Includes militia lists from 1912 to 1927.

Miscellaneous records

Series consists of miscellaneous records relating to the 8th Recce Regiment in some way. Includes notes possibly relating to the regimental history, an identification key for a photograph, newspaper clippings, a photograph, and other unknown textual records.

Other regimental events

Series consists of records relating to regimental events apart from reunions and the 50th anniversary. Series contains four files: Louvigny, Concerts, Event programs, and Cards and invitations.

Louvigny

File contains a record entitled "1944-1974 Canadian Remembrance Days: The Struggle for Louvigny July 18th-19th" and a copy as well as a program about a visit to Louvigny for the 50th anniversary.
