Shell Fellowships 1966 - Wickenheiser, Streib

The Saskatchewan Bulletin, September 1966, p. 6; "Oswald J. Wickenheiser, mathematics teacher at Regina's Campion High School, was among 50 outstanding high school science and math teachers who attended an eight-week Shell Merit Fellowship seminar at Stanford University, California. Purpose of the program, sponsored by the Shell Companies Foundation, is to help teachers catch up with advancements in science and math. Here, 13-year-old Robert MacKay, a patient in Saskatoon City Hospital receives assignments with visiting teacher Mrs. M. D. Dyck who spends three mornings a week in the children's ward supervising homework."

Arbos March-April 1968, p. 19; "Thanks to the co-operation of the Saskatchewan Government Telephones and teacher Ruth Puschelberg, 12-year-old Sandy Morrison of Moose Jaw who is deaf can attend regular classes. Recently the National Research Council has developed a transistorized amplifier for Sandy. It is built to his specifications with low and high frequency range. This development has given Sandy much more freedom of movement and he can now sit anywhere in the room and join other students for group work."
