Jan Gerrit Wyers fonds

Fonds consists of personal papers of Saskatchewan folk artist Jan Gerrit Wyers, 1913-1970. Included are original drawings and paintings, and slides and photographs of his art works, as well as personal and family photos depicting relatives in the Netherlands, Wyers' farm at Windthorst, and the installation of his exhibit at the Norman MacKenzie Art Gallery. Also present are personal documents, postcards from the Netherlands and North America, an exhibition catalogue and a small quantity of correspondence including 4 letters from Wyers to Ed Haveledge.

Robert Cosbey fonds

Fonds consists of professional papers of English Professor Robert C. Cosbey, 1959-1981. The records are arranged in five series: Associations; Oral History Projects; 'All in Together Girls'; Teaching; and Sound Recordings. Within the latter series, the audio tapes have been organized as follows: Folk Songs, including radio programs and related research material; Oral History; Skipping Songs; and Student Projects. The textual records consists of conference and workshop materials, correspondence and general files pertaining to oral history associations; guides, manuals, correspondence, reports, conference material, grant files and reference files concerning oral history; reports, text, and transcripts relating to Cosbey's book 'All in Together Girls'; and course descriptions and student papers. Photographs found in the student papers chiefly relate to old-time musicians and dancing, square dancers, farm life in Saskatchewan, and school yard games. Also included are slides of quilts made by various women.

Jack Boan fonds

Fonds consists of personal and professional papers created by economics professor Jack Boan, from the 1940s to 1985. Most of the records have not been processed but generally they fall into the following series: Professional Correspondence (1962-1978); Community and Professional Concerns, Organizations and Affiliations (1965-1985); Conferences, Colloquia, Workshops ([ca. 1967]-1985); Personal ([ca. 1940s], 1970-1976); Publications and Writings by Dr. Boan (1951-1976); Reference Files ([ca. 1945]-1983); Royal Commission on Health Services (1962-1965); and University Work ([ca. 1945]-1983). In the University Work series the following sub-series are found: Administration (1961-1975); Faculty (1962-1971); Teaching ([ca.1945]-1983); and Youth/Students (1960-1976). Of particular interest are the extensive files relating to the various community, professional, and student organizations with which Dr. Boan was involved at the local, regional, and national levels. These contain correspondence, meeting materials, financial documents, reports, newsletters, and other material pertaining to numerous groups in the areas of community planning, broadcasting, resources, economics, and, especially, international development. Some of the organizations are: the Community Planning Association of Canada, Regina Branch (1966-1973) and Saskatchewan Division (1967-1972); Man and Resources (1972-1973); the Canadian Bureau for International Education (1973-1976); CUSO, local and national (1960-1976); World University Service of Canada (1963-1971); and the United Nations Association, Regina Branch (1968-1969), 1980-1985). Also notable are the correspondence, budgets, grant applications, program materials, audio recordings, photos, and other records concerning the planning, organization, and funding of the second Canadian Conference on Health Economics held at the University of Regina in September, 1983, and chaired by Dr. Boan. The fonds also contains substantial series of teaching and reference files dating from the 1940s to 1983. Besides teaching materials, lecture notes, examinations, class lists, and other records directly relevant to the courses Dr. Boan taught, these files incorporate a broad range of background information in agricultural economics, water resources, recreation, mining, health, transportation, energy, land management, forecasting, and other areas of academic interest and expertise.

Fonds consists of personal and professional papers of Rita Shelton Deverell. Documenting her multi-faceted career are publications, research files, teaching records, correspondence , audio-visual materials, committee and conference records, professional memberships, reviews, clippings, and workshop records. Of particular note are background information, correspondence, financial records, transcripts, and clippings relating to Deverell's research on theatre personality, Florence B. James. Personal records include appointment books, financial records, contracts, photographs, publications, scrapbooks, clippings, and songbooks, as well as a small quantity of personal correspondence. Research files, seminar materials, drafts and abstracts, and other records relating to Deverell's doctoral studies are also present, chiefly pertaining to her dissertation on "Arts Policy, Society, and Children".

Fonds consists of 18 series: Biographical Material;Family; Personal; Early Recreation; Education; Army Service; Working Career; Personal Art Interests and Activities; Professional Activities; Professional Organizations; Writing; Newspaper Clippings; Photographs and Negatives; Publications; Scrapbooks; Slides; Sound Tapes; Death. Most series are subdivided into series and sub-series. Of particular note are: Correspondence; King's College, Cambridge University; Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force (SHAEF); Monuments, Fine Arts and Archives (MFA); Wiesbaden, Germany (Allied Restitution of Nazi Looted Art); Henry E. Huntington Library; Metropolitan Museum of Art; Royal Ontario Museum; University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus; and York University. Although Heinrich did not publicly proclaim his homosexuality, this aspect of his life is also reflected in his papers and thus they represent a rare source of information on the homosexual lifestyle, particularly in the 1940s and 50s. The travel photographs of both Heinrich and his father, Edward Oscar Heinrich, are particularly noteworthy, as are Heinrich's photographs relating to World War II and the MFA.

Included are manuscripts, drafts, notes, and correspondence relating to his major published books 'Van de Graaff Days', 'A Planet of Eccentrics', and 'Laterna Magika', as well as a family history project entitled 'Load Shedding'/'Extended Families'. The fonds also contains: drafts of numerous published, unpublished, and/or unfinished stories, poems, plays, TV scripts, and novels; correspondence with other writers and with publishers; publications by and about Begamudr and scholarly criticism of his work; video and audio tapes of interviews and readings; essays; talks; grant and application files; association and jury files; teaching and editing files; reading and conference files; an album containing photos relating to writing including shots of the Saskatchewan School of the Arts at Fort San; and family and personal photographs and memorabilia.

Barbara Stange fonds

Fonds consists of professional papers of education professor Barbara Stange, chiefly relating to her research into students' "levels of moral reasoning." Included are a thesis proposal, literature, correspondence, written and tape recorded interviews, scoring sheets, analysis and notes pertaining to her Masters thesis (1977) and to a follow-up study in 1976, as well as additional interviews on the same topic conducted between April 1977 and June 1982. Minutes of the Early Childhood Education Area meetings (198401985), correspondence and a report relating to the University of Regina Children's Centre (1983-1984), and a small quantity of professional publications are also present.

Clifford Wiens fonds

Fonds consists of personal, professional, and business records generated by Saskatchewan architect Clifford Wiens, 1953-1990. Although arrangement and processing are not complete, the records are found in three series: Personal, General Office Files, and Project Files. The Personal series contains biographical information, financial records, health records, insurance files, publications by and about Clifford Wiens, speeches, presentations, interviews, and files relating to exhibitions and shows. Contained in the General Office Files series are the administrative records of Wiens' architectural firm relating to financial matters, personnel, equipment and supplies, competitions, conferences, travel, insurance, maintenance, property, public relations, communications, and correspondence with professional associations, government agencies, boards and committees, juries, and businesses. The financial records are extensive, dating from 1958-1982 and including financial statements, expense reports, corporate tax returns, appointment books, ledgers, auditors' reports, accounts, and routine bookkeeping documents. By far the most voluminous series is the Project Files which comprise approximately 32 meters of textual records and 5,200 drawings and plans relating to all phases of conception, design, tendering, and construction of Wien's work from 1958-1990. The projects range from small repairs, renovations, and additions, to heritage restorations, to large public buildings and commercial complexes, and include schools, churches, office buildings, stores, warehouses, picnic shelters and campsites, monuments, markers, and roadside signs, houses and apartments, hotels and motels. Proposals for projects that were never built have also been retained. Arranged chronologically by project number, the files contain feasibility studies, requirements, proposals, contracts, tenders, change orders and change memos, test reports, drawings and plans, presentation boards, revisions, approvals, meeting minutes and notes, specifications, quotations and cost estimates, progress reports and invoices, transmittal forms, furniture lists, schedules, inspection reports, shop drawings, photographs, models, colour schemes, recommendations and observations, interior designs, consultants' reports, field instructions, correspondence with clients and contractors, and other documents.

Fonds consists of records documenting the personal and professional life of artist and teacher Ted Godwin. The records are arranged in thirteen series: Artifacts (1980-1984); Art Works, Designs, Sketches and Posters (1949-1987); Calendars and Diaries (1969-1986); Correspondence (ca. 1964-1984); Financial Records, Personal (1955-1984); General Files (ca. 1965-1986); Miscellaneous Material; Newspaper Clippings, Articles; Photographs and Negatives (ca. 1950-1986); Publications (1929, 1942, 1949-1986); Slides; Audio Tapes (1981); and Videotapes (1982-1987). Of particular interest are Godwin's original sketches, sketchbooks, works of art, and posters, as well as a large quantity of photographs, slides, videotapes, exhibition catalogues, and other publications relating to his work and the work of other artists. Also noteworthy is the correspondence with architects, art galleries, and dealers, artists, art teachers, family and friends which contains copies of Godwin's outgoing letters. The General Files chiefly comprise files relating to his professional life including business correspondence; correspondence and financial records pertaining to the Hard Art Moving and Storage Co. and other enterprises; professional organization files; correspondence, lecture notes and student papers relating to his work at the University of Regina and other institutions; and a small quantity of Godwin's prose and poetry. Small amounts of personal and family materials are also found in the financial records, photographs, slides, and videotapes.

David Thauberger fonds

Fonds consists of personal and professional papers of Saskatchewan artist David Thauberger, (1954-1989). Included are: ceramic sculptures, paintings, and prints created by Thauberger; awards and degrees; financial records; business and personal correspondence; a series of files documenting Thauberger's dealings with numerous Canadian art galleries; and photographs, slides and publications relating to Thauberger and his work. The fonds also contains the artist's extensive collection of articles, books, catalogues, invitations, correspondence, newspaper clippings, notes and writings, art works, photographs, slides, and sound recordings relating to Saskatchewan folk art. The collection includes recorded interviews, art works, and slides and photos depicting artworks by numerous artists, among them Ed Fletcher, Ann Harbuz, Molly Lenhardt, W.C. McCargar, Sam Spencer, Fred Neibrandt, Fred Moulding, and many others. Within the slides, some Quebec and Nova Scotia coverage is also present.

Tony Tascona fonds

Fonds consists of personal and professional papers of Manitoba artist, Tony Tascona. Included are catalogues, commission and project files, exhibition files, catalogues, invitations, and publicity material, news clippings, reference material and periodical articles, and audiovisual material relating to Tascona and his art. Of particular note is the series of business correspondence (1960-1994), the photos and slides of Tascona's work and events during his career, and a substantial collection of original art cards created by numerous contemporary artists (1952-1993), along with catalogues of other artists. The fonds also contain a small selection of Tascona's original art creations including drawings, a self-portrait, prints, T-shirts, and wedding invitations. Records relating to the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts during Tascona's tenure as prairie region vice-president (1979-1981), to the Winnipeg Art Gallery when he served on its Board (1975-1976), and to his involvement with the Canadian Conference of the Arts (1990-1993) are also present. The professional records are supplemented with small quantities of personal and family financial records, legal documents, correspondence and photographs. The fonds also includes a photograph of Tascona's grade one class with teacher, Gabrielle Roy.

Of particular interest are Lobchuk's extensive personal and professional correspondence with artists, art galleries and arts organizations, and business records of the Grand Western Canadian Screen Shop which include correspondence, financial records and other documents relating to the establishment and operation of the shop. Also noteworthy are publications, articles, exhibition catalogues, invitations, posters, publicity materials, photographs, transparencies, and slides relating to Lobchuk's own work, and to products of the Screen Shop, as well as files documenting his involvement with various professional organizations.
