: This fonds contains the personal records of an extended family, including photographs, correspondence, and diaries. It documents their interests, careers, and family life predominantly two generations – the Ratcliffes and McConnells. The first accrual documents the interests, careers and family of John and Doreen McConnell and their daughter, Mary Ann. It includes materials related to McConnell’s work in communications, his work for the Canadian and Saskatchewan governments, together with materials relating to his interest in the environment and social and international development issues. It also includes materials relating to his wife, Doreen, who predeceased him. The second accrual adds the records of Doreen’s parents, the Ratcliffes, which includes documents related to their personal life and interests, Elma’s travel, James’ World War I service, and family life.

In addition to the original musical compositions, this fonds contains memorabilia and information about Henry Abley, his career, recitals and performances such as: newspaper clippings, information pamphlets, CBC radio programme information, choir contact lists, articles and scores written about/by Canadian [colleagues], concert programmes, personal and professional correspondence, church programs and newspaper clippings related to his career.

This fonds contains the original musical scores and arrangements, and related teaching material, programs, posters and recital material from multiple generations of the Fleming family, primarily those by Arthur Evelyn Fleming (1864-1922), Robert James Berkeley Fleming (1921 – 1976), William Arthur Fleming (1933-2016), and Robert’s son Berkeley Fleming. Georgina Gunn Fleming, Robert’s wife Margaret Pound, Robert may have been the most well-known as a composer, pianist, organist, choirmaster and teacher; but William (“Bill”), a teacher-librarian who taught in Regina throughout his career, was also an acclaimed singer and choirmaster, and studied at the University of Saskatchewan under Murray Adaskin, and Frances James Adaskin. The fonds contains musical works by others in a variety of musical genres; as well as family correspondence, photographs, and memorabilia.

Bob Fink fonds

This fond contains mostly textual material, specifically copies of the books and articles Bob Fink wrote over his lifetime, mainly in regards to the evolution and origin of music and other topics related to music. The other half of the collection is copies of sheet music which he composed, mainly under the series name “Some New Old Music” as well as the opera Lysistrata. It has been published individually as well as in collections. There are also some recordings on a variety of media (CD, cassette, and reel to reel) which appear to contain recordings of Bob Fink playing his compositions.

Bob Fink kept an extensive website filled with the articles he wrote on a wide variety of topics. It also
contains links to articles he collected that were of interest to him and related to his areas of study. It
