Biographical history

The Inukkakanailak project was undertaken to publish a book of nine traditional stories for use in literacy teaching in communities of Kitikmeot region, Nunavut. The stories were recorded during oral history interviews conducted in Bay Chimo (Umingmaqtuuq), Cambridge Bay (Ikaluktuuttiaq), and Gjoa Haven (Uqsuqtuuq), Nunavut, in 1994, 1996, and 1997. An educational consultant was retained to edit the stories. Artwork was commissioned for use in the final publication. The bilingual Inuinnaqtun-English book was published in 2005.
