History
The Kiluhiqtuq project was undertaken to investigate oral history, traditional Inuit knowledge, and archaeology of Kiluhiqtuq (Beechey Lake), Nunavut, in an area south of Bathurst Inlet and north of the Northwest Territories border. The project also provided an Inuinnaqtun language-immersion experience for young people from Cambridge Bay (Ikaluktuuttiaq), Nunavut. The team of elders, archaeologists, and field assistants found a number of hunting blinds, caches, and tent rings. The project was organised by Kitikmeot Heritage Society.
