History

William John McTaggart, also known as Trigger, was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. He became a flight sergeant with the RCAF during the Second World War. In February 1945, he was reported missing after his plane was shot down over Germany but was then discovered to be a prisoner of war. He became a member of the Caterpillar Club for using a parachute to save his life.
