The fonds consists of textual materials generated by Swift Current Grace Pastoral Charge, its predecessors and constituent congregations – church boards, committees and related bodies, local women’s units and other groups.
Contents include: minutes of Session and Council, congregational, Trustees, and committee meetings; records of local United Church Women (UC.W.) groups; some financial records and annual reports; communion and historic rolls; Home Mission Record Books from Success and Stewart Valley; and registers of baptisms, marriages, and burials held at Swift Current (Grace United Church), Stewart Valley, and related locations.
Original order for many of these records is unclear. Items under XV.A were arranged and listed as local church records sometime before 1990 and accruals (under XV.SA, XV.SC and XV.SR) were added in batches, around 1992, 1998, 2004, 2006, and 2018. The fonds was created in 2023, to include records previously listed and any new accruals.
Further accruals are expected.
Original provenance for many of the records in the fonds is unclear. Initial items were transferred to the archives between 1925 and 1986, with further batches added around the 1990s, early 2000s and 2010s.
Some records are restricted, to protect personal information.
