Goss Publishing, Kamloops, B.C. (1999); The book has no direct connection to Indian Head and area. The Northwest Resistance of 1885 at Batoche, Northwest Territories, was led by Louis Riel and Gabriel Dumont. Many young men from Indian Head and district, as well as Major W.R. Bell, who contracted out many of his horses, wagons and workers, were involved in transporting goods to support the troops of General Frederick Middleton.
