Bio/Historical Note: The University of Saskatchewan bought the seven quarter-section John Goodale farm, located nine miles south of Saskatoon near Floral, in 1972.

Arthur Wenhardt was born 8 February 1917 at Markinch, Saskatchewan. His early education was at Wheatwyn rural school and he finished high school at Regina Central Collegiate. Later he attended Regina Luther College. Wenhardt graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1944 with a BSc from the College of Agriculture. While at the U of S he was a four-year football player and upon graduation was awarded the Tommy Fraser Memorial Trophy for Sportsmanship. He worked first for the Prairie Farm Rehabilitation Administration and then at the Canada Agriculture Research Station at Swift Current until July 1962. At that time Wenhardt joined the faculty of the Department of Crop Science at the U of S. He served as superintendent of field research plots, lectured, and later served with the Extension Division. Wenhardt retired in June 1982. He died 8 May 1988 in Saskatoon.
