Assiniboia Pastoral Charge

Assiniboia Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, part of Assiniboia Presbytery, consisting of St. Paul's United Church, in Assiniboia. The appointment at Willows was added ca.1926. By 1946, the charge consisted of Assiniboia and Maxtone preaching points. In 1982, Viceroy re-opened and was added to Assiniboia Pastoral Charge, which had joined Moose Jaw Presbytery. As of 1984, St. Paul's (Assiniboia), Viceroy and Willow Bunch were listed as preaching points. Viceroy closed in 1985. Willow Bunch closed January 15, 2009.

Meadow Lake Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, containing preaching points at Meadow Lake (Grace United Church), Pegasus and Bridge Creek. Dorintosh was later added and it eventually amalgamated with Grace United Church.

McLachlan, John

John McLachlan was a Methodist and later United Church minister in Saskatchewan and Ontario. He was born and raised in the fishing village of Tarbet, Scotland. He immigrated to Canada, and was a probationer in Adanac, Saskatchewan, in 1909, before being ordained, in 1910. He studied at Wesley College, Winnipeg, 1911-1915, and served charges in Saskatchewan and Ontario until he retired in 1953.

Central Butte Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, containing preaching points at Central Butte, Robin Hood and Green Prairie. Around 1948, the charge merged with Riverhurst Pastoral Charge. On July 1, 2007, it merged with Tugaske-Eyebrow to become Spirit Hills Pastoral Charge.

Glen Ewen Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, containing preaching points at Glen Ewen (St. Angus United Church), Calvin and Hope. Around 1957, the charge merged with Oxbow to become Oxbow-Glen Ewen Pastoral Charge.

Melfort Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, containing the preaching points at Melfort and Beatty. On July 1, 1995, the charge became part of a new Melfort-Ethelton Pastoral Charge, after the division of the former Kinistino-Ethelton Pastoral Charge (other points became part of Birch Hills - Kinistino Pastoral Charge). Ethelton United Church closed November 15, 2011.

Melville Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, containing First United Church, in Melville. This congregation is generally considered the first Local Union formed in Canada, dating back to 1908 and coinciding with the Basis of Union, which eventually lead to the creation of the United Church of Canada. Original members included Methodists, Baptists, Congregationalists, and Presbyterians.

Regina Carmichael Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, containing the Carmichael United Church preaching point. The church had been originally formed (in 1925) by congregations at the former Wesley Methodist Church and Carmichael Presbyterian Church, named after a former Presbyterian Superintendent of Missions, Dr. James Carmichael. The charge closed June 30, 1995.

Star City Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, part of Prince Albert Presbytery and containing Star City, Campbellville, and Valparaiso appointments. By 1951, only Star City and Valparaiso remained in the charge. Brooksby was later added (before 1962) and Valparaiso removed (ca.1965).

Tugaske Pastoral Charge

Tugaske Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, part of Moose Jaw Presbytery and containing just the Tugaske preaching point.

Between 1946 and 1951, Tugaske and Eybrow Pastoral Charges amalgamated to form Tugaske-Eyebrow Pastoral Charge, with appointments at Bridgeford, Brownlee, Eskbank, Eyebrow, and Tugaske. Lake Valley was added around 1965 and Keeler around 1982. Brownlee amalgamated with Keeler in 1986 and eventually closed, on June 30, 1996.

The charge amalgamated with Central Butte Pastoral Charge, on July 1, 2007, forming the new Spirit Hills Pastoral Charge.
