The Joint Committee officially convened in April 1904, in Toronto, bringing together appointed representatives from the Congregationalist, Methodist and Presbyterian Churches, to negotiate church union. Meetings continued through to 1908, when the terms written in the Basis of Union were agreed upon and sent to the negotiating churches, for discussion and approval. By 1912, both the Congregationalists and the Methodists had agreed to the terms. The decision was more contentious for the Presbyterian Church, though in 1916, their General Assembly decided to go ahead with the union.
Between 1916 and 1925, the Joint Committee worked to complete the union and defeat those opposing it, including the newly formed Presbyterian Church Association.

The Dominion Commission (officially "The Commission appointed pursuant to The United Church Act, chapter 100 of the Statutes of Canada, 1924") was formed to enable the distribution of property between the United Church of Canada, which about 70% of Presbyterian Churches in Canada joined, and the remaining "non-concurring" Presbyterian Church.

Humboldt Pastoral Charge was created as a new United Church charge in 1925, part of Saskatoon Presbytery, consisting of just the Humboldt congregation. Brithdir joined the charge around 1956 and, as of 1962, the charge consisted of Humboldt, Brithdir and Englefeld preaching appointments.

Pheasant Creek Larger Parish was a pastoral charge created around 1969, from an amalgamation of Abernethy-Lemberg Pastoral Charge (with Abernethy, Lemberg and Neudorf points), Balcarres-Pheasant Forks Pastoral Charge (with Balcarres, Duff and Lorlie points) and File Hills "Indian" Pastoral Charge. Around 1980, File Hills separated to re-establish itself as a separate charge.

As of July 1, 1989, the charge was split into Abernethy-Lemberg (a.k.a. Lemberg-Abernethy), Balcarres, and Duff Pastoral Charges.

Caron Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, containing preaching points at Caron, Knox [Grayburn?] and Summerside. Later points included Wesley and Boharm (ca.1960). Around 1969, the charge divided and St. Andrew's United Church (Caron) was added to Moose Jaw Grace Pastoral Charge, creating the new Moose Jaw Grace-Caron Pastoral Charge. Boharm and Wesley briefly formed their own Boharm-Wesley Pastoral Charge, before dividing (ca.1970), with Boharm joining Moose Jaw Minto Pastoral Charge. Wesley would be officially discontinued, ca.1971. The Grace-Caron Charge would also later dissolve and Caron church would join Mortlach Pastoral Charge.

Mortlach Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, part of Moose Jaw Presbytery and containing Mortlach, Zion [Parkbeg?] and Dobson appointments. Later preaching points included: Mortlach United Church; Zion United Church, Parkbeg; and St. Andrew's United Church, Caron (until it closed, September 1, 1991).

Moose Jaw Minto Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, from what had previously been the Presbyterian Moose Jaw Minto Pastoral Charge.

Tuxford Pastoral Charge was formed as a self-sustaining United Church field in 1925, part of Moose Jaw Presbytery, with appointments at Tuxford, Buffalo Lake, Pioneer and Huron. Prior to this, it had been a Presbyterian pastoral charge. By 1932, the charge consisted of Tuxford, [Lake] Huron and Marquis preaching points. Tuxford Pastoral Charge was no longer listed by 1958 and, as of 1962, the Tuxford preaching point had joined Marquis and Keeler as part of Marquis Pastoral Charge.

Moose Jaw St. Andrew's Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, from what had previously been the Presbyterian Moose Jaw St. Andrew's Pastoral Charge.

Kindersley Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, part of Kindersley Presbytery and consisting of St. Paul's United Church (Kindersley). With the closure of Kindersley Presbytery, the charge became part of Rosetown Presbytery. Additional preaching points included Netherhill (from ca.1962 to 1968).

North Battleford Pastoral Charge was formed as a new United Church charge in 1925, from what had previously been the North Battleford Methodist Circuit and Presbyterian North Battleford Pastoral Charge. Presbyterians in the area who were "non-concurring" with Union continued as Presbyterians, under the Presbyterian Church in Canada.

Regina St. James Pastoral Charge was formed as the new United Church Regina North charge in 1925, from what had previously been the Presbyterian North Regina Condie Mission Field. The church was listed as part of Regina Chalmers Pastoral Charge, ca.1932, and later part of Regina Rosemont Pastoral Charge, ca.1936 through the early 1940s. By 1946, Regina North Pastoral Charge was re-established (but listed as vacant).
