Bio/Historical Note: Dorothy (Rutherford) Logan, a graduate of Nutana Collegiate in Saskatoon, enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan (BHSc 1934) in 1929. Rutherford excelled in the 220-yard dash and broad jump, and was an outstanding scorer for the basketball team. As well as competing on the two teams for four years, Rutherford was a member of the University Athletic Directorate, including a term as vice-president. Rutherford received a Major Athletic Award in 1933. She was killed in a car accident in Terre Haute, Indiana, in May 1966.
This is Doug McGillivray’s “Memory Lane” sports collection. It is a compilation of newspaper and magazine clippings of sporting events from 1904-1993. The sporting events include: horse racing, golf, collegiate sports, boxing, wrestling, soccer, ladies and men’s softball, Western Hockey Association (W.H.A.) hockey, track and field, basketball, old-timer hockey and National Hockey League (N.H.L.) hockey. The clippings are mounted on coloured bristol board.

The fonds contains one black and white photograph from Gerald Fitzgerald's personal collection. The photograph depicts the Melfort High School's h ockey team from 1930-1931. The team was the winner of the Hobberlin Cup.
