Gordon Snelgrove fonds

Incomplete collection of 35mm slides used by Gordon Snelgrove in his teaching. These slides were in circulation until 2010. The paper mounted slides include handwritten notes in blue and red pen by Gordon Snelgrove.
Snelgrove’s previously used glass lantern slides were discarded when the Department of Art and Art History moved from the Hangar Building to the Murray Building. Many of the 35mm slides have also been discarded or re-mounted in plastic as the original cardboard mountings were damaged with time.
Also included is a copy of a book annotated by Snelgrove entitled.

Memorabilia from the days when Grace Davis McKinnon, later Mrs. Grace Pine, was a student at the U of S. She earned a B.Sc in 1930 and ME in 1931. The bulk of material pertains to social activities of the University in general and the School of Medicine in particular. The material includes programs, dance cards, autographs, a ceramic skull made by the U of S Ceramics Department, a scrap book and a photograph of Marjorie Slater who later married Stanley Steer.

It also includes Zion United Church booklets that lists Frances and Eva Green’s names, a booklet for the Fran Pieran Club, a G.P. Plaxton Real Estate booklet, a binder belonging to Eva Green that contains newspaper clippings booklets on local council, business and professional women, and other things of interest, and three Central Collegiate school yearbooks belonging to Eva and Frances Green.

This collection consists primarily of photocopies of correspondence, articles, photographs, sessional papers, and press clippings, related to William Henry Jackson (or Honore Jaxon, as he is also known) including copies of his correspondence. The originals of much of the material dates from 1885. The material is organized and recorded according to the structure that Griffen and Greenland have devised.
