A.D. Fletcher

Small portrait of A.D. Fletcher taken in Havelock, Ont. He was born in Bensfort, Ont. April 1875 and died in 1955. He came to Zealandia in 1906. He was the grandfather of Robert Franklin. John (Johnny) Franklin was an uncle of Robert Franklin.

Zealandia Wheat Train

Four grain elevators, one belonging to the Goose Lake Grain and Lumber Co., are seen with a long row of box cars. A through track beside the station is also seen. "Zealandia wheat train, 1909" hand written on bottom of photograph in white marker.

First Avenue

A row of shops on 1st Avenue in Zealandia. The livery stable is at the end of the row just behind the windmill. A man places bricks along the side of a building in the forefront of the photo.

Pool Hall & Barber Shop

Four men stand in the Zealandia pool hall. Second man from the right is believed to be Jack Stewart. The pool hall was also part bowling alley and part barber shop. Note the man on the left sitting in the barber chair, while presumably the barber stands beside his client.

Butcher Shop

A man stands behind a counter inside a butcher shop. In one hand he holds a long thin knife, while his other hand rests upon a large piece of meat. Various meats hang up to dry behind him.

Harness Shop

Two men stand inside a harness shop. Gloves, harnesses, leads, and more hang and are stacked throughout the shop. Identities are not known, but there was a Harness & Saddlery shop owned by a W.A. Messner in Zealandia in 1913.
