Winona School Sodding Bee

Sodding bees were a community event at the Winona School. Walls of sod three feet thick would be piled against the wooden frame of the school to make a building that was warm in the winter and cool in the summer. In this photo, a large group of people stand/sit outside and on top of Winona School. Contact Rosetown archives for names.

"Wing Feeders" on threshing machine

An unusual system of wing feeders is shown that feeds sheaves into the threshing machine on the Sweatman farm near Zealandia, Saskatchewan. Visible are two mules in front area, two men forking sheaves, bundles wagons and a straw stack behind the wing feeders

William Graham

William Graham (as identified by his son) standing in front of his car and trailer, from which he sold kerosene refrigerators. He is parked in front of the Graham Bros. Hardware Store.

William George King 1878-1974

"Billie" King was the first Overseer of the Village of Rosetown 1909-10. He was a member of the first Town of Rosetown council in 1912 and served another term in 1920-21. He was a well-known and successful businessman (King's Store) and a pioneer farmer. He died in 1974, age 96.

Wight Bros. Garage, owned and operated by Glen and Bill Wight with a small camper parked out front beside an Esso gas pump. Formerly Hyslop Motors and Central Garage. Located on Railway Ave, Highway 7. Current site of the Country Rose Inn.
