Note on back of photograph: "Dr. John Postlethwaite, Associate Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, uses electro-chemical apparatus to measure corrosion rates in a section of iron pipe carrying potash in water. Bio/Historical Note: Dr. John Postlethwaite was on the faculty of Chemical Engineering from 1975-1983.

Bio/Historical Note: During the civil war between the barons and King Henry III, Sir Roger de Trumpington, a Crusader, fought on the side of the king and was present at the battle of Evesham (1265). Roger de Trumpington died in 1289.
