Bio/historical note: J.E.M. Newall, Chairman, President and C.E.O. of DuPont Canada Inc., served as Campaign Co-Chairman of "Partners in Growth", the College of Agriculture Capital Campaign. Newall was awarded an Honourary Degree by the University of Saskatchewan in 1991.

Program for Home Guard celebration/fund-raiser on Aug.12, 1915. It involved a parade, starting at the Armory, a march past the Lt-Gov, games a musical ride by the Royal Northwest Mounted Police (RNWMP) and entertainment and dance in the Auditorium.

Mrs. G. Laird presents a cheque for $25,000 to Dr. Douglas R. Knott, director of the Crop Development Centre. Others in the photograph are: Frank Lovell, Jack McFaull, J.A. Brown, and R.W. Begg.

Lorne Hehn (left), president, United Grain Growers, contributed a $375,000 cheque toward the new College of Agriculture Building during University Farm & Home Week. E.K. (Ted) Turner, University Chancellor, accepts Mr. Hehn's cheque.

Bio/Historical Note: The "Partners in Growth" Campaign raised over $12 million toward the cost of the Agriculture Building. Donors included faculty, alumni, students, individuals and corporations. The campaign, begun in 1986, was organized by Ketchum Canada Inc. and directed by Scott Smardon.
