This fonds consists of correspondence, reports, articles, addresses, minutes, course material and notes relating to H.R. Baker’s career and research. There is considerable material regarding the development and delivery of extension programs and adult education in Saskatchewan. Much of the material deals rural and community planning and coping with changing social and economic conditions. This fonds is supplementary and complementary to the official records of the Extension Division.

It includes materials relating to research, particularly on women in society; feminist Christianity; Metis and First Nations women in northern Saskatchewan, the impact of development and the retention of native culture.

Included is material relating to the Colleges' native education programs, such as SUNTEP, ITEP, and NORTEP, as well as records documenting the Colleges' role in the provincial education system.

This fonds contains materials relating to Sophia Dixon's interests in international relations; the various ideologies current in the 1930s and 1940s, notably labour and worker's rights, socialism, communism, social credit, and the rise of fascism during this period; local and international women's organizations, etc. In particular, this fonds provides a comprehensive record of the early Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) in Saskatchewan and Canada; the Farmer-Labor Group, Saskatchewan Farmer's Union, and United Farmers of Canada. Also included is a series of books and other reference materials collected by Charles and Sophia Dixon.
