This fonds consists of a single handwritten diary containing detailed, daily entries from the date of Lynn’s departure from Belleville on 23 October 1899, until his return home and a ceremony with the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York on 11 October 1901, in Toronto. The entries provide detail of Lynn’s voyage; his immediate call to the front upon his arrival in Cape Town, and all aspects of his service and battles.

The fonds consists of records by and relating to E.H. Oliver, his travels in Saskatchewan and his teaching at St. Andrew’s College, his experiences in the First World War and involvement with educational programs for the soldiers (through the University of Vimy Ridge and Khaki University), his postwar work as Principal of St. Andrew’s College and later Moderator of the United Church, and his research and publications.

Contents include: correspondence (1911-1916); diary of trips to the Doukhobor area around Veregin (1915), the Cote Reserve, and to the Ruthenians of Kamsack and Canora; military publications and wartime memorabilia; materials related to the University of Vimy Ridge (1917-1918) and Khaki University (1917-1919); Oliver’s postwar correspondence (1920-1935), as he resumed his duties as Principal of St. Andrew’s College; and various historical and research publications and manuscripts, on topics such as Church Union, education, Saskatchewan history and settlement. There is also a collection of material pertaining to the drought situation on the prairies and the United Church response (1930-1932), at which time Oliver was serving as Moderator.

The collection also includes letters and tributes to E.H. Oliver, from after his death (1935-1936).

The album documents Edna Korpan's nursing school years including acceptance to the school, class work, nursing balls and graduation, the Royal Visit, classmates, physicians, staff and patients. Album also includes items from the years after Edna Korpan's graduation, including her employment cards with the Regina General Hospital, wedding invitations, clippings of marriages and deaths, photographs of Nick Korpan, photographs of the 1963 nursing alumnae gathering, and souvenirs and photographs of the 1968 Canadian Nurses' Association conference and alumnae gathering.

This fonds contains two copies of the first issue of the Moose Jaw Times from the scrapbook of Edward Nicholas Hopkins. The end of both copies contains an extract from an address by Edward Nicholas Hopkins to the Dairymen’s Association at Fort Qu’Appelle in March 1896 that was quoted by Percy Reid at the Canary Banquet on March 24, 1929.
