This fonds contains materials relating to Pierson’s research interests, and his collaborative work with graduate students and faculty from medicine, nursing, veterinary medicine, and computational science. Pierson and the reproductive biology research unit made medical history when they were the first to capture natural human ovulation, witnessed with the use of an intra-vaginal probe to produce ultrasound waves. Those original images, on video tape, form part of this fonds; as do other images and data relating to Pierson’s research in reproductive technologies.

Fonds consists of working files, correspondence, lists, plans, drawings, sketches and photographs pertaining to the planning and execution of landscaping at the U of S Saskatoon and Regina Campuses as well as St. Joseph College in Yorkton.

The fonds contains contact confirmation cards collected by the club over the decades of operation. QSL cards are, perhaps, the most visible aspect of this hobby. The radio operator would send a 'confirmation of reception' (or 'QSL' in the ham's Q-code) to a listener who had proof of reception time, date and frequency as well as information on the quality of the signal received. They are proof that a shortwave radio station was heard.

The material has been arranged according to the groupings and headings which Dr. Buckley has assigned them.

This fonds contains reports, correspondence, minutes, blue prints, and a visitor's book regarding the planning for and opening of the Betatron Project. Also included are a CBC film and a four magnetic tapes regarding the opening of the Linear Accelerator. Another subgroup includes meteorological records kept by the department between 1900 and 1968. A third subgroup includes the log books of Dr. Balfour Currie regarding his research of auroras during the Second International Polar Year (1932-1933).

The primary focus of the material deals with photochemistry (a branch of chemistry having to do with the effect of radiant energy, especially light, in producing chemical action). The fonds includes medals and other awards received by Henry Taube, including the Nobel Prize, National Medal of Science, Priestly Medal, etc. as well as plaques, certificates and other memorabilia. Textual material covers several career highlights, including correspondence from Canadian universities in 1940 and subsequent job applications and offers; biographical material including oral history interviews; material relating to Luther College, including a post-Nobel congratulatory note from an influential teacher; articles by Taube and others explaining Taube’s scientific contributions; clippings and other material relating to awards, especially the Nobel Prize; and other material. Some material, particularly relating to Taube’s death, was added to the fonds by his widow Mary Alice Taube; this material includes obituaries from several newspapers, condolence letters and cards, and material relating to the memorial service at Stanford. Photographs include documentation of the Nobel Prize ceremony, including the presentation by King Carl Gustaf; other award ceremonies; international trips including to Japan, China and Taiwan as a visiting lecturer; informal photos from various years; formal portraits and head shots; giving lectures and with students; colleagues from Stanford including fellow Nobel laureates; and more.

Six original Canadian letters from World War Two, with content about the destroyer HMCS Athabaskan, pride in service, the Wrens, criticisms of those young men not serving, and duties while in service. Two of the letters were written by Telegrapher Leonard Woolsey. The other letters were written by Barbara Woolsey. The letters were addressed to Eldon Woolsey, brother of Leonard and son of Barbara, who served overseas with the RCAF.

This fonds contains material that documents G.M. Simpson's interests and activities during his career at the U of S. Of particular note is the extensive collection of photographs by John Diduck and Rudolph Kaul collected by Dr. Simpson documenting Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, the university and in particular the Department of Crop Science and the Crop Development Centre.

This fonds represents an important resource of secondary material regarding the history, composition, use, proliferation, detection and disposal of chemical and biological weapons and the agencies responsible for their control.
