This fonds contains issues of a newspaper written and produced by a group of boys (Syd Frost, John Hutch, Murray Leddy)who lived on Saskatchewan Crescent in the 1930s. Called “The Cres News” its pages report on local and international news, society stories, as well as hand drawn ads, cartoons, with jokes and poems. They detail the life of a Saskatoon resident, through the eyes of a 13 year old boy.

Athol Murray fonds

This fonds consists of records of Father James Athol Murray from 1918 but particularly from his time at the Notre Dame College from 1927 to his death in1975. Father Murray's interests were intricately involved with his role as College administrator and teacher and as a result there is not always a clear distinction between his personal records and records of the college. This fonds contains: photographs of Athol Murray and albums he compiled, many related to school events as well Canadian and international events; textual records consisting of extensive correspondence with international figures, including Canadian Prime Ministers Sir Wilfred Laurier, Louis St. Laurent, Mackenzie King, Lester Pearson, John Diefenbaker and Pierre Trudeau, as well as Notre Dame students and alumni; newspaper clippings; and publications prepared by Athol Murray. The videos and sound recordings document Father Murray's speeches and interviews on such topics as sports, education, politics and religion. Robin Maugham fonds

This fonds consists of a small portion of Maugham's manuscript and published items. The majority of the material relates to "The Deserters" and includes manuscripts, proofs, and a published copy of this work. The incident which forms the central theme of "The Deserters" is a meeting between an English and German soldier during World War Two. This incident is based on an event that happened to Maugham while he was fighting in the Western Desert during World War Two.

The fonds also includes heavily annotated manuscripts of "Winter in Ischia: A Novel" and "The Account: A Novel". "The Account: A Novel" was based on Maugham's play, "Enemy." There is also a manuscript of the play, "A Question of Retreat." The fonds also includes a first printing paperback copy of "The Wrong People," a monograph which was originally published by Maugham under the pseudonym David Griffin. The fonds includes a handwritten note and published tribute written by Peter Burton, who worked closely with Maugham for many years and was one of his literary executors. The fonds also contains two newspaper clippings.

The film includes footage gathered and created for the event (including new interviews with John and Olive Diefenbaker) as well as the finished product as presented during the birthday gala.

This fonds contains four books that belonged to the family of George Benjamin Cubitt Sharpe.

The two Ontario Readers books were published in 1884 and 1885, and belonged to Ernest W.C. Sharpe. The methodist hymn book was likely used by Georgina Sharpe as it contains a letter sent from her. The hymn book also includes four flattened flowers, five newspaper clippings, and a weekly schedule of the the Zionist Methodist Church from 1911.
