This fonds reflects Holmlund’s interest in the philosophy of education, his varied career at the University of Saskatchewan, and his concern for an equitable society. It is particularly valuable as a source for university history, specifically for the period of Leo Kristjanson’s tenure; and for issues surrounding health delivery, education, and the College of Medicine; the development of computer / IT services on campus; and First Nations educational opportunities. As a reflection of planning at a post-secondary U-15 institution, this fonds is particularly strong, notably for the materials surrounding the Issues and Options project.

This fonds primarily consists of agendas, minutes, notices of meetings, and publications from Canadian Institute of International Affairs (CIIA) branches across Canada and the Royal Institute of International Affairs (RIIA) in London. The fonds also includes a small amount of correspondence to and from Dr. Graham, who was Secretary-Treasurer for the Saskatoon branch of CIIA, relating to the organization of meetings of the Saskatoon branch, arranging for speakers, and collecting membership fees. There are also invoices and receipts for events held by the Saskatoon branch.

In addition, there is a considerable amount of correspondence with colleagues M. Lakshmanan, M. Jast, S. Jana, B. Henderstein, E. Hutchinson, W. Newcomb, S.C. Price, G. Setterfield, M. Shaw, R. Tobin, J. Woodard, M. Black, and S. Achary. It also contains a copy of Naylor's thesis, "The Control of DNA Synthesis and Bud Inhibition through Plant Growth Substances," along with some of his published and unpublished manuscripts.

The fonds also contains some photographs, miscellaneous souvenirs, and Dr. Oliver's diplomas.
