This fonds reflects Kerr's vocational and avocational interests. His academic activities include not only his own writing in a variety of genres but also his editing, assessment and review of the contributions of others to prose, poetry, drama and film. His service to the community external to the University is primarily evident in the political, arts and heritage fields.

Fonds consists of files generated by Susan Whitney Gallery Ltd, a private art gallery located in Regina, Saskatchewan. These records relate to the exhibitions and selling of art by such regional artists as Joe Fafard, David Thauberger, Russ yuristy, Bill Lobchuck, Don Proch, and Tony Tascona, among others, and such folk artists as W.C. McCargar, Dmytro Stryjek, and Eva Dennis. Other Canadian and foreign artists are represented. The fonds have been organized into ten series: Art Fairs, Artist files/Artists, Date Books, Financial Records, Globe Theatre, Invitations, Personal, Photographs, Scrapbooks, and Working files/Administration. The first series, Art Fairs, is further subdivided into four subseries: General, ART/LA/Los Angeles International Art Fair, Chicago International Art Exposition, and the Chicago International New Art Forms Exposition.

Fonds is composed of more than one accession. 89-5 consists of administrative correspondence, various class descriptions and papers from the Dept of Visual Arts. 91-27 consists of administrative papers from: the Dept of Drama, Norman Mackenzie Art Gallery, Division of Fine Arts, and the Regina Symphony Orchestra. 124 photographs and 5 architectural drawings are also included.

This fonds contains several drafts of the play "Chokecherry Wine (or the Hafford Wedding Caper)" including the version edited for high schools; material concerning the arrangements and expenses for the 1974 Strolling Players tour, as well as a diary of their 1975 tour.

This fonds contains correspondence and memoranda pertaining to Marken's teaching and writing, published and unpublished poems, plays, stories, reviews, articles and addresses as well as miscellaneous reference and resource material.

Fonds consists of personal and professional papers of Saskatchewan writer Geoffrey Ursell. The bulk of the fonds is composed of background and research materials, drafts, manuscripts, revisions, notes, publications, publicity material, contracts, correspondence, outlines, scripts, photographs, and other documentation relating to Ursell's extensive writing projects including novels, plays, poetry, short stories, and songs, as well as writing workshops. Since several of his works are historical in nature, some of the research files contain copies of archival documents and photos dating back to the 1800s. Ursell's association with a number of professional organizations including ACTRA, Saskatchewan Sport Trust, the Saskatchewan Writers Guild, and others are reflected in files containing reports, committee records, membership lists, minutes, publicity material, financial records, correspondence, policy papers, and grant applications. A substantial series of business files contain correspondence, financial records, and other documentation pertaining to his diverse endeavors, and his involvement as an editor with Coteau Books and Salt magazine is documented through business records and edited manuscripts by other writers. Records relating to his M.A. and Ph.D theses, and to his teaching career at the University of Manitoba and the University of Regina, and small quantities of personal correspondence are also present.

This fonds contains material related to the literary career of Mansel Robinson. There is correspondence regarding publishing, staging productions, residencies and grant applications. The fonds also contains drafts and edited scripts, research material, reviews and published material related stage productions. In addition the fonds contains five war diaries and an address book of Geo. J. Collinson who was stationed in France during the Great War.

Pertaining to Haderlein's life and his career generally, including materials relating to the University of Saskatchewan, his interest in medievalism, and his work as a translator.

Fonds consists of personal papers created by Dr. Howard Leyton-Brown. Included are reports, notes, correspondence, meeting materials, minutes, list of artist and compositions, programs, and other records reflecting his various musical involvements locally, provincially, and nationally. The bulk of the records pertain to Dr. Leyton-Brown's activities as a member and director of the Saskatchewan Arts Board. Dating from 1966-1972, this series includes job applications, briefs, reports, committee files, correspondence, grant applications, information bulletins, minutes and agendas of Board meetings, monthly operations reports, clippings, and press releases. His participation with the Canada Council is also documented in a series of files containing reports, meeting materials, notes, and correspondence, 1971-1974. The remainder of the fonds is arranged by the organization or institution with which Dr. Leyton-Brown was associated, and includes the Canadian Association of University Schools of Music (1967); the Conservatory of Music, University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus (1962-1966); the Regina Council of the Arts (1970); the Regina Orchestral Society (1963-1964); and the Regina Symphony Orchestra (1963-1964; 1973).

This collection relates to the writing and research of Honoré Jaxon: Prairie Visionary. This book completes Donald Smith’s “Prairie Imposters” popular history trilogy concerning three prominent figures who all pretended an Aboriginal ancestry they did not, in fact, possess – Honoré Jaxon, Grey Owl, and Long Lance. The material includes photocopies of material from various sources including other archives. Unless indicated titles were supplied by author/donor.
William Henry Jackson, also known as Honoré Joseph Jaxon, Louis Riel’s secretary in
1884/85 immediately before the North-West Rebellion, labour leader (b in Toronto 13
May 1861; d in New York C, NY 10 Jan 1952). After his family moved from Ontario to Prince Albert, Sask, Will Jackson joined them, abandoning his Classics course at the University of Toronto. Having completed 3 years there, he was one of the best-educated men in the area. He became secretary of the local farmers' union, and in this capacity he met Riel in the summer of 1884. Sympathetic to the Métis cause, he went to live at Batoche, Sask, to serve as Riel's secretary, converted to Roman Catholicism and later accepted Riel's new religion. After the failure of the rebellion, or “resistance,” Jackson was tried and committed to the lunatic asylum at Fort Garry, Man. Escaping 2 months later, he walked to the American border and eventually settled in Chicago, Ill. As Honoré Joseph Jaxon he worked as a union organizer for over 2 decades. "Riel's Secretary" moved to New York after WWI, where he died (Canadian Encyclopedia Online).
