Winners at the North Battleford Fair

File contains photographs of the winners of the farm girls and farm boys competitions at the North Battleford Fair. Pictured for the girls are Iris Cowell (Mullingar, SK), Pat Oster (Medstead, SK), and Heather Robertson (Richard, SK), and for the boys, the winners were Warren Ballsrud (Maymont, SK), Jim Moore (Speers, SK), and Ken Prechtl (Fielding, SK). File also includes an image of Lena Duke of North Battleford, who took home first place in the glamour class in the light horse show.

Birthday Celebrants / Harness Racing Pile-Up / Sod Breaking Ceremony / Fire at Cochin SK

File contains an image of Henry E. Miller, aged 97, and Mrs. Jessie DeGear, aged 92, the oldest residents of North Battleford as they share a birthday party. File also contains an image of horse lying on the track following a pile-up at a harness race at The Battlefords Exhibition grounds. File also contains an image of Mrs. J. Kerr, and Rev. D.B. Isaac as they take part in the sod breaking ceremony for the Knox St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in North Battleford. File also includes an image of the charred remains of a hot dog stand at Cochin SK. The stand was owned by Sandy Backus, and damage was estimated at $1500.00.

New Legion Hall Opens in North Battleford / Fielding Train Station being Dismantled / Head Nurse Completes Course

File contains an image of the exterior of the brand new $100,000.00 Legion Hall in North Battleford, included is an image of Mrs. Joseph Sloan, Mrs. Hilda Campbell and Jim Crane taking part in the ribbon cutting ceremony. File also contains an image of the Canadian National Railway train station in Fielding, SK, being dismantled. There is also an image of head nurse W. Edwards at the Saskatchewan Hospital in North Battleford, being presented with a certificate by Jack Watts, after he completed a ward supervision and management course.

Battleford Horticultural Society Winners

File contains photographs of the winning lawns, gardens and flower arrangements as judged by the Battleford Horticultural Society. Pictured is the front and back yard of Mrs. Howard Mackie of North Battleford, who won the prize for best garden. Included is an image of the winner of best flower arrangement which went to Mrs. F. Taylor of North Battleford with her collection of gladioli.

Grand Champion Galloways / Rob Beranek, Golfer / Farm Boys and Girls Winners

File contains an image of the grand champion bull and female Galloways at the Battlefords Exhibition. The bull was shown by John Bradley of Centaur, SK, and the female by Gordon Horvy of Cabri, SK. Included is an image of golfer Rob Beranek of North Battleford, who won the provincial sand green golf championship. File also contains photographs of the winners of the farm boys and girls camp competition, they are Gary Baker of North Battleford, Norma McPherson of Borden SK, and Gordon Jackson of Speers, SK.

North Battleford Kinsmen Club Activities

Included is an image of three members of the Kinettes looking over a display of Indigenous handicrafts at their convention in North Battleford, Sask. Pictured is Olive Casey, Audrey Hutson, and Arlee Ladoucer. Also included is an image of the Kinsmen Parade in North Battleford, pictured is a team of oxen pulling a wagon. File also includes images of Ron Spratt of the North Battleford Kinsmen Club presenting Jerry Asmussen, a past president of the North Battleford Kinsmen Club, with a lifetime membership.

Top Bulls at North Battleford Bull Show and Sale

File contains photographs of the top bulls at the North Battleford Bull Show and Sale. Pictured is the champion Shorthorn bull "Talcott Teddy" who was purchased by James Gregson of Maidstone, SK for $1700.00, the top price at the show. Included is an image of "Ebenezer", grand champion Hereford, bought by Albert Beatch of Prince Albert, SK for $1150.00. Also pictured is the grand champion Aberdeen-Angus, sold to John Paetsch of Jansen, SK for $1275.00.

North Battleford Fair Opens with Parade

File contains photographs of some of the winning floats that took part in the North Battleford Fair parade. Included is an image of the Sunnyside Grocery float, that won first place in the commercial class, as well as an image of the Kinsmen paddling pool playground unit that captured top prize in the non-commercial class. Also pictured is the parade queen and her princesses, the queen is Eileen Lust, and her two pricesses are Diane Cote, and Joan Larson.

Boy Scout to Visit Greece / "Babe" Milk Delivery Horse put to Pasture

File contains photographs of Doug Cunningham, of North Battleford, who is one of 14 boy scouts selected in Saskatchewan to attend the World Scout Jamboree in Greece. File also contains photographs of "Babe" a horse that pulled the Saskatchewan Co-operative Creamery Association truck in North Battleford for 12 years, and is now retired.

North Battleford Music Festival Winners / Model of North Battleford Civic Centre
