Saskatchewan's Golden Jubilee - Local History Book

The Saskatchewan Bulletin, January 1955, p. 29; "What Shall We Call Our Local History? Lloydminster's history is appropriately titled: 'From Oxcart to Oilwell' which suggests that a local history can be written around the industrial growth of the community." The cover of a local history, entitled "Lloydminster From Oxcart to Oilwell" shows an ox-drawn covered wagon at the top and an oil derrick at the bottom. The dates 1903 and 1950 are in diagonally opposite corners; the Saskatchewan coat of arms is seen in a third and another [Lloydminster?] coat of arms in the fourth.
