This small portion of the collection consists of copies of articles and clippings on prominent Canadian veterinarians, the anniversaries of the OVC over time, notable medical advancements in veterinary medicine and other aspects of the profession's history including artefacts. The books he donated can be found in the library catalogue with a word search of "Rosen Collection of Veterinary Medicine History"

This collection relates to the writing and research of Honoré Jaxon: Prairie Visionary. This book completes Donald Smith’s “Prairie Imposters” popular history trilogy concerning three prominent figures who all pretended an Aboriginal ancestry they did not, in fact, possess – Honoré Jaxon, Grey Owl, and Long Lance. The material includes photocopies of material from various sources including other archives. Unless indicated titles were supplied by author/donor.
William Henry Jackson, also known as Honoré Joseph Jaxon, Louis Riel’s secretary in
1884/85 immediately before the North-West Rebellion, labour leader (b in Toronto 13
May 1861; d in New York C, NY 10 Jan 1952). After his family moved from Ontario to Prince Albert, Sask, Will Jackson joined them, abandoning his Classics course at the University of Toronto. Having completed 3 years there, he was one of the best-educated men in the area. He became secretary of the local farmers' union, and in this capacity he met Riel in the summer of 1884. Sympathetic to the Métis cause, he went to live at Batoche, Sask, to serve as Riel's secretary, converted to Roman Catholicism and later accepted Riel's new religion. After the failure of the rebellion, or “resistance,” Jackson was tried and committed to the lunatic asylum at Fort Garry, Man. Escaping 2 months later, he walked to the American border and eventually settled in Chicago, Ill. As Honoré Joseph Jaxon he worked as a union organizer for over 2 decades. "Riel's Secretary" moved to New York after WWI, where he died (Canadian Encyclopedia Online).

A collection of charts and diagrams that would have likely been used in a classroom setting. Many of them are hand painted, with some being commercially created. The topics include botany, agriculture, zoology, and general science.

This fonds details the activities surrounding the 90th anniversary of the University of Saskatchewan in 1997.

Institutional Note: This committee was formed to organize activities celebrating the 90th anniversary of the University of Saskatchewan in 1997. These activities included a one act play, and a cultural tour which featured local talents and visited Saskatoon, North Battleford, Prince Albert, and Humboldt. A night of music and dance was also on offer.

This fonds contains issues of a newspaper written and produced by a group of boys (Syd Frost, John Hutch, Murray Leddy)who lived on Saskatchewan Crescent in the 1930s. Called “The Cres News” its pages report on local and international news, society stories, as well as hand drawn ads, cartoons, with jokes and poems. They detail the life of a Saskatoon resident, through the eyes of a 13 year old boy.

This fonds contains materials created or accumulated by Walter Slipchenko during his career and during research for his definitive report, Canada's Arctic Cooperation with the Soviet Union and Russia, 1965-2000. The documentation is comprehensive, covering a number of subjects and organizations, and provides a valuable record of circumpolar life across several nations. In addition to the physical items, it includes a website, www.walterslipchenko.com which provides further information on the scope of the report and the development of international, circumpolar relationships.

Awards won by Dr. Ernest H. Baergen, one of the first graduates of the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan.

This collection contains biographical material and personal correspondence, as well as files relating to Professor Coburn's work in the Dept. of Psychiatry, his affiliation with the New Democratic Party, and his membership with the Unitarian Universalist Church. There are several files on City and St. Paul's Hospitals, other universities, and articles, lecture notes, book reviews, speeches and addresses by Dr. Coburn.

This fonds contains materials relating to the initial research into physician health care. Vincent was one of the pioneers in this field, and much of his research and interests relate to the identification of and assistance for physicians under duress in their working, private, and spiritual lives. In addition, there is material relating to the development of the Palliative Care Movement at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal, in the early 1970's, as well as material regarding Christianity and medicine, ethics, alcohol abuse, marriage and family relationships, etc.

This fonds contains year books, attendance books, visitor's registers and minute and account books. The series also contains audio cassettes of the symposium entitled "Emma Lake Artist's Workshop - Community Critics Workshop" (1989).

This collection contains lecture notes taken by Dr. Roy while she was a student at the University of Saskatchewan. Predominately from English classes, these include notes on lectures given by Professors R.A. Wilson, J.M. Lothian, J.A. Bentley, Edith Brown, Jean Bayer, Murdoch Matheson, and Carlyle King. Included also are notes from a summer school art history class, taught at Emma Lake; and an English course from the University of Toronto.
