Matte gives us some insight into the struggle to establish schooling that was an inevitable part of the expansion of the settlement." Northern Schools - Turnor Lake Library

The Saskatchewan Bulletin, Nov. 1, 1968, p. 5; "The library at Turnor Lake is in one of the DNR house-classrooms in a small closet that also serves as a storage room. The three teachers there have spent a great deal of time cataloguing, sorting and shelving the books, most of which have been donated to the school. Unfortunately, according to the teachers, although the books in their library are good, most are adult books and are of little value to the younger students."

School Opening - Humboldt - Ribbon - Cutting

Arbos 1983 - STF Memories p. 27; "In 1948 results of the larger units of administraiton were already apparent. In October Humboldt Unit opened a modern technical school; a beaming Woodrow Lloyd, minister of education and former STF president, cut the ribbon, backed by Constable McLeod of the Humbold RCM and Principal O. T. Lang." Education Minister W. Lloyd cuts a ribbon across the entrance to the Humboldt School addition. The principal, O.T. Lang, and Constable McLeod of the Humboldt R.C.M.P. look on. The school band can be seen in the background.
