Champion Bulls at North Battleford Bull Sale and Show

File contains an image of the grand champion Hereford bull, Carlrams Top Notch Wetmore, which was sold to Ralph Rafose and Son from Richard, Saskatchewan for $1450.00. Included is an image of the grand champion Shorthorn, Norbion Wanderer, which was sold to C. Hanson of Edam, Saskatchewan, for $700.00. There is also an image of the grand champion Aberdeen-Angus, Eston Quality of Isla Bank, which was sold to T.E. Ash of Cut Knife, Saskatchewan, for $680.00.

Bready Public School in North Battleford opens

File contains photographs of the opening ceremonies for the Bready Public School in North Battleford SK. Included is an image of the exterior of the school, also included is an image of Grade 3 student Wanda Drury, with the Bready sisters, Mrs. A.M. Fergususon (formerly Inez Bready), Lela Bready, and Lillian Bready, cutting the ribbon. There is also an image of the children at the school singing in a choir that performed in the ceremony.

Saskatchewan Hospital Nursing Award Winners

File contains photographs of a number of award winning nursing garduates from the Saskatchewan Hospital in North Battleford, SK. Pictured is Ralph Baker and Louise Gillies, who both won an award for proficiency, Mrs. Marlene Ross and her sister Grace Ziola, received an award for psychogeriatircs, and Victor Allam, of Barbados, won an award for highest academic achievemnent in the three year course.

Psychiatric Nurse Awards Winners / Pioneer John Swain

File contains photographs of Richard Bunce and Evelyn Zoller, two recent graduates from the psychiatric nursing program at the Saskatchewan Hospital in North Battleford, who were awarded proficiency awards for their class. Included is an image of John Andrew Swain, a 93 year old North Battleford resident, whose has been nominated for "Pioneer of the Year", an award given out annually at Pion-Era in Saskatoon.

High School Drama Awards Presented

File contains photographs of R. Hinitt, director of the Saskatoon Players, receiving the award for winning the Northern Saskatchewan High School Drama Playdowns, from E. Kramer the Member of the Legislative Assembly, for the Battlefords. Also included are images of Assta Lindgren of Kelvington SK, for winning best actress for her performance in "Bathsheba of Saaremae" and Don McConnell of Forgan SK, who won the award for best actor in his performance in "Minor Miracle."

Lawrence Public School Open in North Battleford

File contains photographs of the exterior of the brand new Lawrence Public School in North Battleford SK. Included are images of Mrs. Ira A. Lawrence, widow of the late Ira A. Lawrence whom the school was named for, cutting the ribbon to officially open the school. There is also an image of the North Battleford school board, its members are W.C. Healy, F. Wright, Dr. J. Cairns, C.A. Wright, H.W. McKitrick, W. Wilkie, and H. Jackson.

Saskatchewan Regional Drama Festival in North Battleford

File contains photographs of some of the participants in the Saskatchewan Regional Drama festival that was held in North Battleford SK. Included is an image of Walter Petrowich and Dick Mollan of the Battlefords Community Players as they perform in the play "Inherit the Wind". Battlefords Horticultural Society Show

File contains photographs of Harold Coombs, a farmer in the Maymont area with a number of wood carvings he has made. Pictured is Mr. Coombs with a number of birds he has carved, and also a small scale replica of the boat the "Mayflower".

Severe rain and hail storm strikes North Battleford

File contains photographs of the damage caused by a severe rain and hail storm that hit North Battleford SK. Included is an image of the damaged cinder block basement, and an image of the water that began to accumulate in the basement of Mr. and Mrs. Les Hines. There is also an image of the basement at the Ranch House Restaurant in North battleford where a deep freeze toppled over temporarily trapping 17 year old Doreen Hoganson. She was later rescued.

Battlefords Agricultural Society and Annual Exhibition

File contains a photograph of North Battleford mayor Roy Dean officially opening the Battlefords Agricultural Society and Annual Exhibition. Included are images of two floats in the North Battleford Exhibition parade. One float entered by the Sunnyside Food Centre was made from thousands of cookies and candies, the other float, entered by Indigenous organizations in the community, depicts the progress made by Indigenous people in the past 80 years.

Lions Club Curling Winners

File contains an image of the Jack Forsythe curling rink from Saskatoon that captured the Zone 3 title in the Lion's Club curling playdowns. Team members include Jack Forsyth, Harry Warner, Jim Hamilton, and Arnold Adams. File also includes an image of the Harold Gillies rink from North Battleford that won the Zone 3 championship at the Lions Club curling playdowns. Team members include Harold Gillies, Ossie Lakness, Doug Harold and Ed Smith.

Battleford Army Cadets Undergo Inspection / North Battleford Ballet Dancer, Cheryl Peterson to Study in Denmark

Warick, commanding officer of "A" company, 1st North Saskatchewan Regiment, inspecting cadets in the North Battleford Army Cadet Corps 2537 at the Colonel Otter Armoury. Pictured with Major Warick during the inspection is Cadet Corporal Gerry McArthur. File also includes an image of Chery Peterson, a ballet dancer from North Battleford, who is set to travel to Denmark to attend an international ballet seminar in Copenhagen.

Annual Inspection at "A" Company in North Battleford

File contains an image of Brig. G.H. Wattsford, area commander, presenting Lieutenant P. Romancyia, of No. 1 platoon, "A" company, 1st North Saskatchewan Regiment, with the award for platoon effieciency during the ceremonies that followed inspection. File also includes an image of Brig. Wattsford presenting Boy Scout Larry Guthrie a certificate for proficiency in map reading and the use of a compass.
