United Church - Melfort, Sask.

This is the original Methodist church built in 1904, 220 Burrows West, and has the distinction of being Melfort's first church. On June 11, 1925 the Melfort Methodist Church became Melfort United Church and the Rev. Mr. Ewing was the first minister. This building was later moved east to allow for the construction of the new United Church. The corner stone for the new church was laid on Sept. 23, 1928.

Thatch Creek School #983 was built in 1921. Ethel Lobb's husband (William) and all three of her children (Harley, Lyell and Lorne) attended this School.

Unveiling the Memorial. Men in uniform surrounding the Cenotaph which was erected to the memory of the men of Melfort and District who died during the Great War 1914-1918.The flag is lowered and wreaths of flowers are on the steps of the cenotaph.
