Arbos November-December 1966, cover page; "Our cover photo, by editor Julius Friesen, was a Christmas-in-September venture made possible by the cooperation of the Blankenagel family of Saskatoon. A fully-decorated Christmas tree and colorful German costumes in a setting displaying their cherished German Christmas customs awaited our editor when he came to call on a Saturday morning in late September." A man in traditional German costume sits in an armchair beside a decorated tree. German dolls and Christmas decorations are seen on the mantle and in front of a fireplace with a pile of unlit logs. The man is reading from a book propped open on his knee to a girl and two boys, also dressed in traditional garb. An alert beagle is apparently listening with interest to the story.
