: This fonds contains the personal records of an extended family, including photographs, correspondence, and diaries. It documents their interests, careers, and family life predominantly two generations – the Ratcliffes and McConnells. The first accrual documents the interests, careers and family of John and Doreen McConnell and their daughter, Mary Ann. It includes materials related to McConnell’s work in communications, his work for the Canadian and Saskatchewan governments, together with materials relating to his interest in the environment and social and international development issues. It also includes materials relating to his wife, Doreen, who predeceased him. The second accrual adds the records of Doreen’s parents, the Ratcliffes, which includes documents related to their personal life and interests, Elma’s travel, James’ World War I service, and family life.

Wilfred McKay fonds

This fonds contains correspondence between Wilfred McKay and family members during his deployment to Europe in World War II with the Saskatoon Light Infantry. In these letters, McKay describes: his deployment journey; details of the daily life of a soldier at training and in battle in England, Spitzbergen (“Operation Gauntlet”) in Norway, and Italy; observations on local culture and cuisine, flora and fauna; his various duties, promotions and positions; personal relationships; family updates; comedic poems and anecdotes; marriage announcement from Holland; post war duty in Holland to sell Canadian vehicles. One letter is from 1944 is from Wilfred’s brother “Mac” Thomas McKay to brother “Cap” Charles Angus Percival McKay. It includes Richard Sweet’s extensive notes, and his research materials leading to his publications, The Directory of Canadian Breweries (first and second editions); Malted Manitoba; and Brewed Right on the Prairies: 122 Years of Brewing in Saskatchewan.

Terry Fenton fonds

This collection contains correspondence relating to Fenton’s professional and private life—including a great deal of correspondence with notable artists, art dealers, and galleries. The fonds also contains working and completed drafts of his writing, and research notes, clippings, and photocopies related thereto. Working files from his periods of directorship, and from his time running Terry Fenton Art Services are also present. News clippings and articles about Fenton are dispersed throughout.
Art / travel journals are also included, as is an extensive collection of photographs and slides both documenting Fenton’s inventory of his own work, and also showing a range of art by others encountered over his career. A number of more personal photographs, slides and videos show artists at work and at play at a variety of workshops, and in a variety of settings. Digital and physical landscape photographs used for inspiration in Fenton’s painting are also present.
A large portion of the collection is comprised of Fenton’s library, which includes publications from the Edmonton Art Gallery, the Mendel Art Gallery, and the Leighton Foundation, as well as more general collected texts, works by Fenton, and an extensive collection of exhibition catalogues.

J.E. Kennedy fonds

This fonds contains material relating to Professor Kennedy's research and publications in the area of history of science (notably, on G.B. Airy, W. Brydone Jack, B.W. Currie, F.T. Davies and the Moon Hoax); astronomy (including information on comets and eclipses); as well as work he did on behalf of the Defence Research Medical Laboratories, the National Research Council, the New Brunswick Department of Agriculture and the NB Dep't of Health. There is also material relating to his career with the University of New Brunswick and the University of Saskatchewan, and information concerning his extensive collection of 16th - 19th century books on astronomy.

Art and Advertising collection

This collection consists of exhibition catalogues, posters, invitations and promotional ephemera, primarily (but not exclusively) from Canadian art galleries. The catalogues predominantly feature the work of Canadian artists, with some European and American artists (and minimal representation from Asian artists). The collection provides interesting documentation of the development of Canadian art across the country, including regional focus and to some extent, the development of interest in Indigenous art. In addition, the collection includes some auction catalogues, as well as items relating to advertising; art and design used in industry promotion; and industrial design.

This fonds contains original manuscripts, copies, and photographs, created and collected by A.S. Morton as University Librarian. The records focus on the history of western Canada, especially Saskatchewan. It includes material on the fur trade and exploration, white settlement and interaction with native people, and the Riel Rebellions. Originals of the copied material date from 1623.
