Records collected and created by the Vice-President of the University of Saskatchewan.

Equivalent in scope to the Presidential or Vice-presidential records, this fonds specifically documents the administration of the Saskatoon campus from 1967-1974, and includes correspondence, reports, minutes, and memoranda. It also includes considerable documentation of the various administrative committees functioning during this period.

This series contains materials created and/or acquired by Walter Murray during his tenure as President, from 1908-1937, documenting nearly three decades of the University of Saskatchewan’s history including its establishment; the faculty crisis of 1919; the development of the Colleges of Agriculture, Arts & Science, Education, Engineering; Law; Medicine, Pharmacy and the Extension Division; and the financial crisis of the Depression years.

This fonds contains of records generated in response to the requests of the Johnson Committee, as well as records relating to other senior administrative committees for which R.G. Sutherland served or chaired.

Given the nature and scope of the office, the Presidential records usually provide the most comprehensive source for documenting all facets of the University, including important initiatives, funding, research and teaching, college and departmental development, and faculty, staff, and student activities. Generally these records contain correspondence, reports, minutes, annual general reports of college and departmental activities, as well as some personal papers, speeches and addresses.

This fonds contains a number of files concerning the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM), including the activities and research projects of the Veterinary Infectious Diseases Organization (VIDO), the 1976 Study of Veterinary Manpower in Canada, computer assisted Animal Health Management, and the Preventive Medicine Committee: the latter two specifically concerning the establishment of a herd health data laboratory and disease control programs. In addition, there are several files related to Professor Nielsen's involvement with the Institute for Northern Studies (INS), the President's Advisory Council on Programs for People of Native Ancestry, game ranching in the north, and the Arctic Training Centre at Rankin Inlet. There is a considerable amount of material concerning the Environmental Advisory Council, and specifically, the Churchill River inquiry, Key Lake, the Environment 80 Report, and an uranium pollution control policy. It also contains some material concerning the establishment of a zoo at the Saskatoon Forestry Farm

This fonds contains records generated outside Dr. Spinks' tenure as President of the University of Saskatchewan. The material deals with the Canada West Foundation, the Chemical Institute of Canada, nuclear energy, Gas and Oil Conservation Board, National Research Council (NRC), Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC), and education at the University of Saskatchewan.

This fonds documents Dr. Bigg's research interests, public service, and administrative service.

This fonds contains the personal correspondence, office, and research files of the Murray family, including W.C. Murray (President, University of Saskatchewan), his wife Christina, and his daughters, Christina, Dr. Lucy H. Murray (Professor of English, Regina College), and Dr. Jean E. Murray.

This fonds contains considerable information pertaining to the militia and various aspects of the military in Canada, including Defence Medical Associations. Dr. Begg's academic career is also well documented, including publications, lectures, grant applications, material relating to cancer research, and promotions and committee work at the University of Saskatchewan. Additionally, there is considerable material on the Medical Research Council, [Royal] University Hospital Board and the various societies and associations to which Dr. Begg belonged.

This fonds contains material relating to the staffing, organization, mandate, and courses of the Extension Division; lecture notes; and resource materials, particularly on Home Economics, clothing, textiles, nutrition and crafts.

This fonds reflects Holmlund’s interest in the philosophy of education, his varied career at the University of Saskatchewan, and his concern for an equitable society. It is particularly valuable as a source for university history, specifically for the period of Leo Kristjanson’s tenure; and for issues surrounding health delivery, education, and the College of Medicine; the development of computer / IT services on campus; and First Nations educational opportunities. As a reflection of planning at a post-secondary U-15 institution, this fonds is particularly strong, notably for the materials surrounding the Issues and Options project.

This fonds contains materials relating to Nikiforuk's career as a professor and Dean of Engineering.

This fonds contains files relating to the Department of French, including departmental minutes and annual reports; as well as files on the Library Committee, the Curriculum Revision Committee for Arts and Science, and the University Committee on Student Social Activities.

This fonds consists of materials used, created, and accumulated by Don Cochrane relating to his academic career. It includes University of Saskatchewan administrative and course materials as well as files relating to the organization and operation of the Breaking the Silence Conference and the Certificate in Ecological Education (CERTEE) program. There are also a number of files detailing international study tours organized by Don Cochrane through the College of Education.

This fonds also includes a file of class notes which were created by Lorne Dignean, a student in the College of Education at the University of Saskatchewan from 1950 to 1951. Mr. Dignean was a teacher for over 35 years at schools around Saskatoon. He taught for the most years at Clavet School, where he provided a scholarship in his family name in 1999. Lorne Dignean died in 2018.
