Co-op housing project

Photographs show members of the Hi-Way Homebuilders' Co-operative Association working on buildings in a housing projecton Clarence Avenue between Adelaide and Isabella Streets. Materials and skilled labour were supplied by Prefabricated Buildings Limited while co-op members did construction and unskilled work.

File contains photographs of people enjoying the Labour Day weekend at Pike Lake Provincial Park, just outside of Saskatoon. Included are images of people walking through the trees, resting on lawn chairs enjoying the sun, and children playing in the water and on the swings and teeter-totter in the park.

Major James William Coldwell

Photographs show Major James William Coldwell, once leader of the Farm Labour Party ,and the Cooperative Commonwealth Federation's second national leader. Coldwell was to be honored by the NDP at a special picnic. The image shows Major James William Coldwell smoking a pipe. Image 3 was published.

This fonds consists primarily of lecture notes created by E.F.L. Whitmore for courses he taught at the College of Law. The subjects include income tax, practice, equity, taxation, labour law, Surrogate Court, and wills. The fonds also includes copies of examinations for several courses.

Bio/historical note: The Mill, planned in 1884 and built by local labour with local materials. It was of great benefit to a wide district. A gold metal was won at the Paris Exposition from local wheat ground in this mill.
