Frank Hoffman fonds

The fonds primarily consists of papers by and relating to Rev. Hoffman and his and others work among Hungarian immigrants.

Contents include: correspondence and reports about missions in Alberta and Northern Saskatchewan; a list of Hungarian immigrants to Canada (some photos included); Az Otthon 1922-1925 (in Hungarian); and related materials, newspaper clippings, and documents concerning mission work and fieldwork Hoffman and others undertook in Saskatchewan. Among the materials is a biographical sketch of the Rev. Emerick Csendes [Czendes], written by Rev. Hoffman, and a copy of “Tales of Hoffman” by R.W. Hardy.

This collection consists of exhibition catalogues, posters, invitations and promotional ephemera, primarily (but not exclusively) from Canadian art galleries. The catalogues predominantly feature the work of Canadian artists, with some European and American artists (and minimal representation from Asian artists). The collection provides interesting documentation of the development of Canadian art across the country, including regional focus and to some extent, the development of interest in Indigenous art. In addition, the collection includes some auction catalogues, as well as items relating to advertising; art and design used in industry promotion; and industrial design.

The fonds consists of records created and/or collected by the Saskatchewan Branch of the Young People's Union (Y.P.U.), its members, treasurers, and committee(s).

President; correspondence with and material relating to the national-level Y.P.U.; financial records; convention reports; lists of executive members; files relating to various Y.P.U. activities, including youth caravans; various newsletters and related items collected from other Y.P.U. groups, outside of Saskatchewan; and a collection of Youth Christian Education Leaders Resource materials, including Explorers and Hi-C groups. There are also minutes and reports from Presbyterial-level Y.P.U. units, in Kamsack, Qu'Appelle, Regina and Saskatoon.

Allena Williams fonds

This seems to be a complete day- by-day account of Allena Williams's life between May 26, 1840 and October 11, 1843 (Vol. 6). She was a regular churchgoer and a Sunday-School teacher. The diary notes various accounts of sermons and a service at St. Paul's for S.P.G. There are also accounts of concerts in Hanover Square Rooms, where there was music by Rossini, Schubert, and others, and Beethoven's Sonata in D. Minor finally played by Sterndale Bennette.
Furthermore, she was a studious and industrious woman who always seemed to have either a book or a needle or a pen in her hand, or to be singing or playing.

This collection contains mostly textual materials related to Cecil King’s work in Aboriginal Education. His papers, translation work, speaking notes, and teaching materials are included, as are significant documents from his committee work. The collection includes a number of important documents surrounding the aboriginal education work done by such institutions as the University of Saskatchewan, Queens University, the Indian and Northern Education Program, the Indian Teachers Education Program, the Northern Teachers Education Program, the Saskatchewan Urban Native Teachers Education Program, the First Nations University of Canada (formerly SIFC), the Gabriel Dumont Institute, the Saskatchewan Indigenous Cultural Centre, and more. The history of troubles at the First Nations University of Canada is tracked through nearly-daily news reports collected by King from 2005-2010. King also extensively collected materials on Aboriginal Education, language, and general matters of indigenous interest..
