The records focus on the history of western Canada, especially Saskatchewan. It includes material on the fur trade and exploration, white settlement and interaction with native people, and the Riel Rebellions. Originals of the copied material date from 1623.

This fonds contains the research materials gathered by Catherine Littlejohn King as a part of her career as a historian and writer of Metis history, in particular of Saskatchewan and Metis soldiers. In addition, his collections of historical newspapers, film, posters -- particularly for local musicians, Canadian film and Canadian artists -- represent a useful collection for anyone interested in these aspects of Canadian culture and society.
