Bow Workshop fonds

Fonds consists of audio-visual recordings and photographs documenting the bow workshops conducted in Kugluktuk (Coppermine) and Cambridge Bay (Iqaluktuuttiaq), Nunavut. Fond consists of materials related to the Doris North Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit workshop conducted in Cambridge Bay (Iqaluktuuttiaq), Nunavut, where the residents of Cambridge Bay and representatives of Miramar Mining Corporation discussed a proposed gold mine at Hope Bay, Nunavut. Fonds includes sound recordings of oral history interviews with Inuit elders and discussions of archaeology, vegetation, wildlife, and environmental risks of the gold mine. Fonds includes an environmental assessment, maps detailing the Doris North and Hope Bay area, photographs of the workshop, and photographs of Kitikmeot Region.

Fonds consists of audio-visual recordings of oral history interviews conducted with Inuit elders regarding social history, archeology, and traditional Inuit knowledge of Kiluhiqtuq (Beechey Lake), Nunavut. Fonds includes transcripts of the interviews, photographs taken during the project, a map of the region used during planning the research, and two versions of the final report "Kiluhiqturmiut nunaa: Inuinnaqtun immersion and oral history project".

Tuktu and nogak: a caribou chronicle fonds

Fonds consists of sound recordings of oral history interviews conducted as part of the Tuktu and Nogak (caribou and calves) project. The interviews document traditional Inuit knowledge of caribou behaviour, habitat, and migration, traditional hunting methods and techniques, and traditional uses of caribou. The interviews were conducted with Inuit elders from from various communities in Kitikmeot region, including Cambridge Bay (Iqaluktuuttiaq), Kugluktuk (Qurluqtuq, Coppermine), Qingauk (Bathurst Inlet), and Umingmaqtuuq (Bay Chimo). Fonds includes copies of one book and two reports based on the research.

Uvajuq: the origin of death [multiple media]

Fonds consists of material documenting the Uvajuq project. Fonds includes fine art (prints, sketches,and proofs) created by Elsie Anaginak Klengenberg of Holman, Northwest Territories, to illustrate the legend of Uvajuq. Fonds includes exhibition cards and photographs from curated exhibitions of the art in the May Hakongak Cultural Centre, Cambridge Bay, and in Japan. Fonds includes the original oral history report based on interviews with local Inuit elders, the book "Uvajuq: the origin of death", the documentary film "Uvajuq: the origin of death", an archaeological survey prepared for the government of the Northwest Territories, and other textual material related to the creation of Uvajuq Territorial Park.
