U of S Education Building Official Opening - Alumni Dinner

The Saskatchewan Bulletin, Oct. 16, 1970, p. 3; "Scrolls were presented to Dr. S. R. Laycock, Bill Quance and Mrs. G. C. Heard at the Oct. 3 education alumni reunion dinner in Saskatoon. Mrs. Heard represented the first graduating class of the Normal School, Bill Quance received the scroll in memory of his father, Dr. F. M. Quance, the first dean of the college of education. Mrs. Quance was presented with roses by Mrs. J. B. Kirkpatrick. Present for the occasion was Miss Beatrice Lick of Saskatoon, a classmate of Mrs. Heard's in 1912. From left to right are Miss Lick, Mrs. Heard, Mrs. Quance, Dr. S. R. Laycock, Wm R. Quance and his sister Ruth."

The day's arduous tasks were forgotten as committee members gathered up their families and spun out to the lake for a congenial get together with friends, a swim, and a chicken supper. For entertainment there was Leo Marshall attempting to waterski."
