The Saskatchewan Bulletin June 1967; "George Derksen, right, editor of the Estevan Mercury is shown accepting the Saskatchewan Education Week Committee award from Al Wakarchuk, Moose Jaw, committee chairman, for the best coverage of Education Week, 1967. In accepting the award Mr. Derksen said the award would not have been won without the activities to report and photo."

The Saskatchewan Bulletin, May 1967, p. 4; "Ralph R. Derdall, teacher in Division III at Clavet School, is winner of the P. Lawson Travel Ltd. $500 scholarship towards Educational Travel, it was announced recently. Mr. Derdall is shown receiving a cheque from George Thompson, manager of P. Lawson Travel Ltd. Mr. Derdall will be attending the International Summer School at the University of Oslo in Norway. His course, which will provide a credit toward a history major in his B.A. program, will deal with Norway and Scandinavia in International Affairs.
