This fonds details the activities surrounding the 90th anniversary of the University of Saskatchewan in 1997.

Institutional Note: This committee was formed to organize activities celebrating the 90th anniversary of the University of Saskatchewan in 1997. These activities included a one act play, and a cultural tour which featured local talents and visited Saskatoon, North Battleford, Prince Albert, and Humboldt. A night of music and dance was also on offer.

This fonds reflects Holmlund’s interest in the philosophy of education, his varied career at the University of Saskatchewan, and his concern for an equitable society. It is particularly valuable as a source for university history, specifically for the period of Leo Kristjanson’s tenure; and for issues surrounding health delivery, education, and the College of Medicine; the development of computer / IT services on campus; and First Nations educational opportunities. As a reflection of planning at a post-secondary U-15 institution, this fonds is particularly strong, notably for the materials surrounding the Issues and Options project.

This fonds contains correspondence and memoranda relating to the administration of the Department of Economics and Political Science. Included is correspondence with Regina College, other universities, and the provincial government. Also included is material relating to the formation of the Institute for Northern Studies and the administration of the M.J. Coldwell Essay Competition.

Also included is correspondence and submissions to the Canadian Journal of History, an academic journal of non-Canadian history published by the department.

This material primarily relates to a 2007 project undertaken by the PACSW celebrating 100 years since the first women graduated from the University of Saskatchewan.

Background: In October 1990, President Ivany established a President’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women to provide information and advice on issues that affect women on campus. The President’s Advisory Council on the Status of Women continues to play an important role in addressing gender-related issues on campus. The membership of the Council is representative of the groups at the University and consequently is able to bring forward issues affecting a wide range of women in our community.

Also included are correspondence, minutes, drafts, submissions and reports pertaining to the activities of the Saskatchewan Department of Education's Curriculum and Instruction Review Committee.

This fonds contains correspondence, memoranda, working papers, publications and reports pertaining to women and their status.

This fonds consists of materials used, created, and accumulated by Don Cochrane relating to his academic career. It includes University of Saskatchewan administrative and course materials as well as files relating to the organization and operation of the Breaking the Silence Conference and the Certificate in Ecological Education (CERTEE) program. There are also a number of files detailing international study tours organized by Don Cochrane through the College of Education.

This fonds also includes a file of class notes which were created by Lorne Dignean, a student in the College of Education at the University of Saskatchewan from 1950 to 1951. Mr. Dignean was a teacher for over 35 years at schools around Saskatoon. He taught for the most years at Clavet School, where he provided a scholarship in his family name in 1999. Lorne Dignean died in 2018.

These records, which consist of correspondence, minutes, reports, memoranda and clippings, include material relating to national and provincial professional associations, pharmaceutical organizations, publications and research.

This fonds contains building files from the early years of the University (1916-1949). These files include correspondence with the architect, contractor, superintendent of buildings, architect's representative as well as progress estimates, reports on work completed, and inspection reports. Also included are approximately 1300 slides detailing every element of the original administration building and architectural drawings of campus buildings and a computer tape backup of the scanned architectural plans and drawings.
