"The 50th anniversary of the Canadian Teachers Federation was observed in November with the naming of the library in honor of the first fill-time secretary-treasurer. It will be called 'The George G. Croskery Memorial Library' after the Ottawa educator who served the national teacher organization from 1947 to 1961 in the top administrative post. his widow and daughter took part in a commemorative ceremony in Ottawa. Left to right are: CTF Secretary General Norman Goble, CTF President Peter Fieger, Mrs. Croskery of the University of Guelph and daughter Mrs. J. Douglas Heyland, school psychologist in Quebec City. The annual general meeting of the Canadian Teachers' Federation will be held in Regina next July."
