Sunny South SD 161

Sunny South (school District 161 was located on the southeast corner of NW-16-17-13-W2. It was built in 1890 and closed due to school consolidation in 1963.

Wide Awake SD 54

The series consists of a photo/text album prepared by Mary G. (Ford) Hamilton for the Indian Head Museum and the Indian Head History Book.

Account Book of John Livingston

A small (17 cm X 25 cm) 36-page unlined paper school exercise book (Humber Practice Book) containing notes and financial records. Many of the financial entries involve groceries (apples, tea, sugar) and "Wide Awake" entitles some of the pages. There are also personal notes, apparently by Mr. Livingston

Fair Play SD 192

A schoolhouse was built in 1890 and was replaced with a larger one further to the east on the south edge of the same section. This school continued operation until it was closed in 1964 due to school consolidation. The series consists of a photo album, two accounts books (1903-1913; 1914-1944), a daily register (1914), three school board minutes books (1891; 1897-1913; 1913-1935; 1935-1963)

Sunny South School District #161 Architectural Drawings

One rolled paper with the architectural drawings for the Sunny South School 161 on it. It has an attached sheet with an inscription that details and names those responsible for funding, building and running the new school. The stone schoolhouse, built according to Osment's plans, was located on the southeast corner of NW-16-17-13-W2. The school closed in 1961.

Glenn Lynn SD 333

Glenn Lynn School was the only two-room country school in the district. The series consists of a photo/text album prepared by Alma Williamson for the Indian Head Museum and the Indian Head History Book, three copies of “Glenn Lynn Heritage” by former teacher Grace Worden, copies of student registers (1911-1964) and textual items from the July 1, 2000 dedication of the cairn marking the school’s former location.
