This fonds reflects Holmlund’s interest in the philosophy of education, his varied career at the University of Saskatchewan, and his concern for an equitable society. It is particularly valuable as a source for university history, specifically for the period of Leo Kristjanson’s tenure; and for issues surrounding health delivery, education, and the College of Medicine; the development of computer / IT services on campus; and First Nations educational opportunities. As a reflection of planning at a post-secondary U-15 institution, this fonds is particularly strong, notably for the materials surrounding the Issues and Options project.

This fonds contains material relating to all activities undertaken by the Extension Division. These records generally contain correspondence, minutes, reports, and memoranda; as well as publications and bulletins, and information on various provincial and national associations, societies, or clubs.

This fonds contains building files from the early years of the University (1916-1949). These files include correspondence with the architect, contractor, superintendent of buildings, architect's representative as well as progress estimates, reports on work completed, and inspection reports. Also included are approximately 1300 slides detailing every element of the original administration building and architectural drawings of campus buildings and a computer tape backup of the scanned architectural plans and drawings.

This series contains materials created and/or acquired by Walter Murray during his tenure as President, from 1908-1937, documenting nearly three decades of the University of Saskatchewan’s history including its establishment; the faculty crisis of 1919; the development of the Colleges of Agriculture, Arts & Science, Education, Engineering; Law; Medicine, Pharmacy and the Extension Division; and the financial crisis of the Depression years.

This fonds contains material relating to the students, faculty and administration of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. These records generally contain correspondence, minutes, reports, and memoranda; as well as information on research, provincial and national professional associations, teaching notes, and building files.

This fonds contains correspondence, memoranda, reports, and minutes, related to the administration and activities of the Association. Included are correspondence and reports from over fifty local horticultural societies in the province and copies of the Associations' newsletter (1950-1973).

Although these records contain files created by the first five Deans of the College of Agriculture, the majority of the records are from A.M. Shaw, L.E. Kirk, and V.E. Graham. The records include correspondence, minutes, and memoranda regarding both College and, to a lesser extent, University administration; departmental reports, extension activities, addresses, and material relating to national and international agricultural organizations.

This fonds contains correspondence, annual reports (1942-1986), budget records, committee minutes, and course outlines (1972-1990) relating to all aspects of the administration and activities of the department. Included are a blueprint and files relating to the construction and opening of the W.P. Thompson Biology Building.

This collection contains correspondence, notes, reports, photos, maps, evidence and lists pertaining to Dr. Murray's activities on three royal commissions and as a judge of the Community Progress Competitions.

This fonds contains the personal correspondence, office, and research files of the Murray family, including W.C. Murray (President, University of Saskatchewan), his wife Christina, and his daughters, Christina, Dr. Lucy H. Murray (Professor of English, Regina College), and Dr. Jean E. Murray.

Fonds includes records relating to the Department of Plant Ecology's administration, teaching and research; extension work relating to the Saskatchewan Weed Survey; and correspondence with a variety of institutions and individuals. A series of minutes and correspondence relating to the Saskatchewan Committee on the Ecology and Preservation of Grasslands (established in 1935) documents the efforts to establish permanent reserves of significant grasslands in Saskatchewan. Records of the department and personal records of R.T. Coupland have often been intermingled; in particular, this fonds includes records relating to Coupland's research and other activities.

Fonds primarily includes administrative and research files relating to the Matador Project and the International Biological Programme at the Canadian and international levels.

These records contain reports, correspondence, working papers, and published material regarding university operations forecasts, space planning, and capital replacement costs. There are specific reports on Fine Arts, health facilities funding options, and applied research.
