The Saskatchewan Bulletin, November 1967, p. 12; "A former school teacher, originally from Saskatchewan, Mrs. Ida DeKelver of Clearwater, B.C. completed an imaginative Centennial project last month. Mrs. Deceiver followed the route of the Overlanders from Clearwater to Wadena. She is pictured above as she arrived in Saskatoon on the last lap of her journey, with two mules, one which she rode and the other which she packed. Welcoming her at the north limits of the city are Harry Jones of the Sheraton-Cavalier, and Verne Prior, chairman of Saskatoon's Centennial special events committee. The Overlanders trekked from Winnipeg to Edmonton, then across to the Yellowhead to Kamloops and beyond in 1862. One woman, with her children and husband travelled with this original group. To commemorate her courage and strength, Mrs. DeKelver chose the project for her Centennial contribution."
